Hi Cash I don't know, when I went on consults some of the girls who worked in the PS's offices would show me their areola scars, on some they were dark, on some they were invisible, on one girl they were a teeny bit raised but not like a keloid. She probably has a predisposition to raised scarring. They are always red right after surgery no matter what. Here's a link to a great breast augmenation resource website.

Shine on you crazy diamond....

Hey Cash, I have had a lift, so I had incisions all the way around the areolas. My scars are nearly invisible. You can only see them up close. They are a little lighter than the rest of my skin, and they are not raised at all. Of coarse, it took a while for them to look that way. At first they looked horrible. I had my lift 1 1/2 years ago, so there has been sufficient healing time. I took good care of my incisions. I used the lotion my Dr. prescribed me. I didn't tan my scars for the first year, and I use Mederma a lot. People scar at different levels. I thought I scarred pretty easily, but my areolas look good! When I first started dancing my scars were worse and only a couple people have said, did you go in through the nipple? Now guys tell me I have nice areolas. I think because they are big, but not too big, and perfectly round and symmetrical.
