Default IPL or Cool Touch Laser and filler

Anyone ever tried IPL(intense pulse light) or Cool Touch laser?

I start to notice fine lines around eyes. They are not yet visible but I know I have to do something about it.

What is the reasonable cost? Is safe to see a general doctor for These procedure? (If I am not mistaken these procedures are performed by the nurse or technician.)

I also bothered by the fold in between nose and mouth. Several month ago when I saw the PS he told me to wait but I think I will go and try fillers.

    Anyone has experience in these?

Jade,Iam the plastic surgeon queen, just got back from a consult,I have been doing the ipl for years, they use to use a machine that was better, stronger, but most places got rid of it because it was too expensive,I am currently getting a serries of ipl ,with the new machine mose places have,I think its called spectra pulse, not seeing the same results,I payed 775$ for 3 treatments, she said that was all it would take,if not she would do them for free, until I get results, well Iam currently on my 7 treatment, the old treatments I would get 6 and it cost 350$ each one or some places 1500 for 6,I mainly get them because I have tons of reddness on my cheecks and dark circles under eyes,as well as fine lines,it usually helps great, not this time,I am currently looking for someone with the old machine. As for the fillers,I will be getting this when restalyn id fda approved,I hear within the next few months,it lasts 6 months Iam told, they also have this stuff radience,it lasts 3 -5 years, its 1500 a cc,it usually takes 2 Iam told for nasial labaial folds that too expensive.hope this helps, anymore questions just ask.

Well I am in florida and they actually let estheticians do them in either a plastic surgeons office,or dermatoligist,I dont really think est aresuppose to do them ,but I think the doctors train them, aslo if you are dark skined they dont work as well, they work better on light skinned, light eyed, european decendant people, also I go every 3 weeks, but its suppose to be every 6,she is just trying to get results as we are on my 7 treatment, call plastic surgeons, dermatologists and just plain old spas with estheticians,to see were you can get them,it is the same machine they use for hair removal.

Hi Jade, I get IPL and I have very sensitive Eurasian skin. I love IPL, it helps so much with any redness, broken capillaries, and any dark spots from pimples. Plus it gives you an amazing glow and shrinks your pores. You need a series of 5 or 6 about a month apart. Make sure they are very careful around your eyebrows because if it is placed too close to them it will singe the part that's too close off, they grow back but it's still a pain. Go to a Dr. or a nurse in a Dr.'s office, not an esthetician. Re Cool Touch, you do NOT want it, it is worthless at best and might actually hurt your skin. It is yesterday's non-ablative laser. You want Smoothbeam and you want a Dr. to do it because you do not want hyperpigmentation from too high a setting. I have had 5 smoothbeam treatments for minor acne scarring and to shut off my overactive oil glands--I don't have any wrinkes--BUT most people get it for fine lines, and now I probably won't get any wrinkles as long as I have a touch-up treatment every year. because it creates new collagen like nobody's business. IT WORKS. It is amazing. It is expensive but worth every cent. but you can do a search for a Dr. near you here: http://www.candelalaser.com/patient_ref.cfm

Make sure you find a Dr. you like and trust and follow his or her pre-treatment instructions to the letter because Asian skin can hyperpigment like crazy. Also you have to make sure not to take Advil or vitamin e before the treatment or you can bruise. Good luck and HTH

ps--Michele is right, Restalyne (hyluralonic acid gel, or HA for short) is the new way to go, all the Drs I have talked with say it's going to totally replace collagen. Radiance is too expensive and it can clump in your face or lips, yuk
