Default Cardiovascular suggestions for the Injured?

As I've already posted, I've badly sprained my ankle . I'm afraid that while I'm laying around, propping it up, letting it heal, not working, that I am going to gain weight. I feel like without all that excercise at night, I could really gain during this time. I know that I could do pilates, or some yoga, but I'm one of those girls who NEEDS cardio. Any ideas on what I could do? I just dont want to return to work with a weaker ankle and some extra punds. Yuk.

Get one of those rubber bands and do upper body exercises. Yeah , I know it's really boring but what can you do under the circumstances. You can still do crunches, leg lifts , and even one legged bicycling.
If you go to the gym ,they could probably suggest even more exercises. I first joined a gym after I had a foot operation to keep in shape during that interval.

Kaiyla the best amount of exercise with minimal foot stress would probably be swimming. Great cardio too. Just don't kick with that foot. Your body does not need as many calories as it did when you were more active, but your mind and stomache think you do. Think low calorie fillers which make you feel full but do not have a lot of sugars or fat like air popped popcorn or rice. The problem with inactivity is the temptation to snack.
