I use Neutrogena Foaming face wash. I use it to take off my makeup before bed, before I apply makeup, or after I workout. I try not to wash my face more than twice a day. I use Neutrogena Clear Pore Oil Controlling Astringent in the morning and before bed (I also use it on any other part of my body to control any break out that might happen). I use Lancome Absolue in the morning. It is a moisturizer with SPF 15 in it. I use Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizing lotion or Clinique Moisture On Call, depending on how dry my face is, before applying makeup. I use Clinique Repairwear intensive night cream on my eyes and any other dry spots before bed. I use a Mudd mask once a week. I have normal to dry skin. I also try to eat healthy. I think that helps prevent breakouts as well.
IMO, the two most important things you can do for your face are:
1. SPF daily.
2. Washing before bed.
i use the line of tea tree oil products from the body shop (my favorite store) they work wonders for breakouts and are so gentle on the skin and all natural.
i use the tea tree oil body wash religously in the shower. And I use vitamin e moisturizing cream to keep my skin soft and moist in the winter... that's all.

I use Tea Tree Oil on a bad blemish. I love the smell, it is so invigorating.
tea tree oil is good for bikini bumps too! I love that stuff
I heard progesterone is good for looking young (found in birth control pills). Of course, this came from my stepmom who never was pregnant. Maybe children age your face
I wash with an over the counter facial cleanser called Salac, which is pure saylasilac (sp?) acid. Benzoyle peroxide for sensitive skin is affective medicine.
Dermatologists have many perscription solutions as well, like cortisone injections to clear up a blemish in 12 hours for $35.
I only exfoliate once a week. I have Origin's Never a Dull Moment.....
And once a month I shave my face. It's almost as effective as macrodermabrasion, much more cost effective.
Good luck!

I take alot of vitamins, drink alot of water, sleep. I use regular baby oil with cotton to remove eye makeup-works wonders! Clinique facial cleansing bar to wash face, St Ive's Apricot Scrub twice a week to exfoliate, Humphrey's witch hazel toner (way less harsh than other chemical toners), then Clinique Dramatically Different moisturizer and All About Eyes. All this daily, with or without makeup.

Juliette!!! You shave your face???
Please tell more about that! What does it do to your face? is it like a peeling?
I make my own out of the kitchen sugar and honey scrub for my face, feet etc.. I warm up the honey. Use once a week. For my puffy days, i use ice cold whole milk with cotton balls, and dip them all over my face....Feels so good!
I am on Retin A and Renova, but only use them a few times a night before bed. One at a time of course, Renova is greasy.
I really love to steam my face, then while it is still damp smear a thin layer of vaseline all over. I have tried to sleep this way, forget it. So i wear the vaseline a few hours before bed. Then just wipe a small amount off to leave some on, then go to bed.
Morning i wash with warm water and Dove. Followed by a damp face and Alpha Hydroxy.
Done.
May sound like alot, but it's not. As i do these "rituals" as i see fit. YEP still go to bed wit makeup on at times....

I have combination skin and the following works well for me:
I use diluted Dr. Bronners Baby soap to wash my face. For eye makeup I'll use baby oil on a cotton ball. I exfoliate a few times a week with the St. Ives apricot stuff. I use the Almay eye brightener and puff reducer on my eyes twice a day and Eucerin sunscreen for daytime under my makeup. I go on a Renova treatment period every once in a while, too... like for 2-3 months. I use the Kiehl's Oil-free Sodium PCA moisturizer at night: not greasy and absorbs well.
If I get a blemish, I swear by the Neutragena blemish treatment since it doesn't dry out my skin. I used to use the Kiehl's blue astringent but Nevada is too dry for that.
Biggest difference I've seen in my skin seems to come from diet and sleep. That and keeping things simple. I haven't found anything fancy that worked better than what I'm using now. Renova is my only fancy treatment.

I have tried Witch Hazel recently and it seems to help. I remember trying Clearasil back in high school, though, and I was WAY allergic to it! YIKES! Didn't know tea tree oil could be used for this... I use it for all sorts of other stuff. Cool. There's one more plus for it.

yes, I was going to mention that tretinoin is THE proverbial fountain of youth in a bottle.I am on Retin A and Renova
Sandrine;
Yes. Once a month I shave my face. It's VERY exfoliatiating and not harmful at all to your skin. OF COURSE I skip the eyebrows, but I do everything else. Ever notice on men that the same areas that they shave are baby smooth? Skin is skin. The same thing can and will work for us women.

I actually use Neutrogena Body Clear wash on my face twice a day. Works just fine for my face and back (where I tend to break out). I also use Neutrogena's mulit-vitamin acne treatment on my skin every other day or so. Started using Neutrogena because it was cheap, now I'm used to it and it seems to work well on my skin. I do need to find a good face lotion. Can't find one that won't make me too oily or greasy. Either that or they don't work at all.
Wow, I wish I were so lucky. I have to shave everyday.Once a month I shave my face.

SSooo funny!
My routine is this: I wash with Lutsine "bactopure" and follows with "eau precieuse" lotion for acne. NO day or night cream.
I use a mud mask once in a while and sometimes renova. I find it too greasy so I don't use often.
I don't want to ruin one year of roaccutane. Also I don't get any blemishes anymore I'm still scared of getting them.
I use a sunless tanner otherwise I would be so white people ask me if I'm sick!!

I use a few different face wash to remove my make up like oil olay and principal secret. But the best yet is the make up melt off by Morgan Schick. It's has some citric smell in it what you do is you apply it on your face massage it and then just wipe it off with a damp towel, you don't have to wash your face after if you don't want to. But I do, my face is oily and this is to moisturizing I'll break out if I don't. Then I just wipe my face with a hot wet damp towel and scrub my white heads off my nose area, I'll see some white heads on the towel so that's how I know I have it. That way I can unclog my pores. Then I would use the face polisher, I'll aplly some of that on and massage it all over then rinse off. Then pat dry apply the pad peels and wipe all over the face to protect me from radical damage. So now my face is smooth and rid skin of dead dulling skin cells.

Vitamin C serums are also great for young lookingskin! It helps boost collagen!

Didn't any of you read Nicholas Pericone's "The Wrinkle Solution"? Alpha Lipoic Acid, DMAE, Vitamin C Ester, and Vitamin E.
Works within hours. Repairs previous skin damage.
This may sound a bit odd, but I use antibacterial hand soap (the brand I use is Softsoap) on my face. If I don't, I break out. After the soap then I use a Cleanser/Toner (I like RoC 2in1). I never scrub, just gently rub in circles with my fingers. The toner really helps to make your pores look smaller. In the winter when my skin gets dry I cut back the Softsoap to every other day and use Pond's Dry Skin Cream. I get complements on my skin every single night at work, someone is always saying I have a perfect porcelain doll complexionI guess this works for me
Oh, and once a week I exfolite with an apricot cream (I like St. Ives Apricot Scrub or anything like that) the trick with that is don't be too rough, or you'll irritate your pores and break out. Be gentle with little bitty circles using your fingers.
Bright Blessings!

I use a brand called Sothy's that my facialist recommended. It is AMAZING my skin has never looked so clear and bright and my pores seem so small and even!!!
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.

I use the Bare Escenuals body wash. I don't know why but I use it. It makes my face so smooth after. It comes with a body polisher, a body shampoo and a body conditoner lotion. I use the polisher and body shampoo on my face it really exfoliates the dead skin. Then I appy a little lotion and my face is clear and smooth.
I'd say the number one thing to do for clear skin is wash the makeup, dirt, sweat, etc. off your face before going to bed, no matter how tired you are! For wrinkles, use SPF 45! You'll still get color.
I am older have have beautiful skin. Here are some of the products I love:
Mario Badescu brand. Nordstroms, online (mariobadesu.com)
I love their moisturizers, especially the buttermilk one, but they have several which I've tried and liked. They send samples when you order from them. Read about their line. They started as a spa.
Philosophy (brand), better makeup counters in larger cities (Nordstrom, etc.), online (philosophy.com)
The best hand cream on the market (Time on your hands PM). Excellent eye cream!! "Eye cream should never feel like your regular moisturizer" Their cleansers, lotions, etc. are good, but the bottles do not hold up to travel or even basic use, in my opinion.
For easy to find, good products - Origins. They are at makeup counters in average dept stores (not sears, etc)
Some of the Purpose drug store products (by J&J) are not full of "filler" ingredients. (I once worked makeup counters with a chemist from J&J)
My personal favorite, but the most expensive of those I've mentioned, is Clarins of Paris, available at better makeup counters. Look to the french women if you want to look young! One interesting thing I leaned from Clarins is that they do not recommend "washing" your face with soap/cleanser and water at all. They use products which are meant to be tissued off - no water b/c it is too drying. It feels weird at first, b/c we are so used to a different way, but Clarins knows skin. They do makeup, but their research moeny goes into skin care.
Hope that helps!!!

I'd like to add that my dermatologist recommended I use Purpose bar soap to cleanse my face prior to applying Retin-A.Some of the Purpose drug store products (by J&J) are not full of "filler" ingredients. (I once worked makeup counters with a chemist from J&J)
Yes, I meant that Purpose products were good, if that wasn't clear...full of good ingredients. For example, you'd be surprised at how many brand names have "alcohol" as one of the top ingredients of some face products, such as astringents... stay away!
