Default Suggestions please? Ab exercises? Etc?

    Hi Ladies!

I started dancing in 1992-2001(off/on), the last couple of years I have not danced but still have the moves only I have a tummy from a c-section(second child) in 1999.Im skinny just I have the little tummy(lost muscle), c-sec scar which hardly shows, and a few stretch marks.I have just started to go to a gym and I take some classes but I wanted to get comments from dancers.Im thinking about dancing but after I had the baby I wore wraps, etc. to hide my tummy, need to work it out now.

Has anyone had kids and been through this or can relate to me?

I would like any kind of suggestions relating to this or exercise ideas, diet info.

    Thank You.

My brother is a personal trainer, and if your serious about losing just a little he said the best workout for a woman is a 30min (3-4mile) run three times a week with lifting weights another three times a week in combination with an abs. Products such as Hydroxcut help speed up results but only take them 12 weeks at a time. I have been doing this program to lose weight, I started in June and have toned up so much and dropped 2 sizes, and the only thing I watch as far as my food is little fast food (like once a week) and drink as much water as possible. If you have any more questions just PM me, and I can as my brother.

you said you are skinny; so you probably want to concentrate on gaining some muscle tone. of course you must eat right to effectively gain muscle tone. for the stomach muscles, i would advise roman chair crunches done to failure. another type of abdominal exercise that is great for lower abs is the hanging knee-lift. all gyms should have this equipment in the ab section of the gym; it is a thing where you hoist yourself up, your arms are on a rest, and your lower body hangs down. simply get on, and do 3 sets to failure of raising your knees to your chest. as your stomach muscles become stronger you can add resistance by holding a dumbell between your feet. sorry if these instructions are hard to follow; i wish i could show you a picture or something. anyway. good luck, hope you get the muscle tone u want. with hard work i'm sure u will.

also: with your diet, STAY AWAY from: 1. sugar, and 2. binge eating. both these things will completely kill all of your workout efforts, and all your hard work will be for nothing. you MUST eat right to see results!!! eat an adequate amount of protein, a little bit of fat & carbs at each meal. keep meals small and frequent (5 or 6 a day). you will metabolize food better and therefore a consistent habit of eating this way will make it actually difficult for your body to store unnecessary fat.
i can relate to you b/c my stomach would look like shit if i didnt work out or eat right. it takes work, but it's definitely worth it. again; good luck

I had a child two yrs. ago by c-section. I started lifting weights and returned to dancing, looking better than ever. The ab exercises CarmenNYC stated are the ones I advise, and Pilates is good to give you a longer torso-it really helps. I still have excess skin that sometimes sags over my waistband. I feel if I ate better it would be reduced...so add a good diet to avoid that minor trauma. Yuck!
