Default I searched for this, but.. increasing flexibility?

I am fairly flexible but I know my splits aren't as good as they should be. Also I used to be able to get my feet behind my head and recently it has been getting harder to do. What stretches do you ladies do to help increase and maintain flexibility?? I don't know about your clubs but here it pays off BIG TIME to be able to pull a pose nobody else can do.

    Hey,
If you used to be able to do it, it'll be easier to get back to that point than something you've never been able to do before. I think every club is similar in that you get the brownie points (money) for the move no one else can do. Keep stretching...in front of the tv, talking on the phone, push your legs apart (straddle-style) in your chair at the computer. You'll get there, just be sure to keep at it.
Always warm up before going onstage. You'll end up pulling something if you don't. At the end of your shift, stretch. You have lactic acid buildup in your muscles. That's why you feel tight the next morning after a particularly hard day's work. Stretching slowly (and not too hard) after your shift will help to release some of that as heat energy without building up more. People ask me often if I have to stretch before I go on set. My reply is that I've been doing this long enough that now I don't need to and I'm happy where I am. Keep it up and you'll be satisfied with your splits.

Always warm up before you stretch too! Never stretch cold muscles. [nono]

Azure, just keep doing the stretches consistently. As you get older your ability to deform the collegen fibers( which you elongate during stretching) gets less and less. At age 25 it declines rapidly. The fibers will become thicher and form more intermolecular bonds that resist deformation.
Once you stop flexibility will decrease dramaticly. I have to stretch constantly just to maintain the previous flexability of my younger days.

Thank you for the advice, Dreamer. You certainly know what you're talking about.
