    Default recovering from breast implants

I had my breast implants done yesterday and all I can say is OUCH!! I've been dancing for a couple of months now and have always been too consious about my breasts. About 3 years ago I used to weigh 196lbs and I'm 5'4. One day I looked at myself in the mirror and told myself it was time for a change. I lost 90lbs in 10 months and did it the healthy way. No pills, never went to see a dietician. I did a lot of walking, eating right and drank plenty of water. After I lost the weight I had a lot of loose skin so I joined a gym and started working out with a personal trainer and almost all of my skin toned up. The part that didn't were my breasts. I went from a 38DD to a 32C and had plenty of excess skin. No one ever noticed it at the club I work but I felt awkward about it and decided to have the implants done. I went to see about 4 plastic surgeons and settled on one whom I felt most comfortable with.

Ritzy, if it's any consolation, you're at the worst stage of the recovery process right now (second day). While you won't completely feel like your old self for a couple of weeks, by tomorrow the pain will subside greatly. Believe it or not, the less dependent you are on strong pain meds, and the more you are able to move around and stay a little bit active, the quicker and easier your recovery will be.

Congrats both on the new boobs and on your tremendous feat of losing 90lbs!

In regard to the excess skin you had left over, I'm curious as to what size implants you chose, whether they were placed over or under, whether you had any other procedures done to remove excess skin etc.

I would also like to congratulate you on your weight loss and new additions!

I went from 24% body fat to 12% body fat and lost my natural 34D's over a period of 5 years. They went down to very saggy 34A's. I have had a BA and a benili lift.

My BA was the worst pain I've been through! I had mine partial sub-muscular so that caused a lot of pain. Melonie's right, be active as soon as you can! I went to the gym and walked the track, making sure I was swinging my arms (I had a tendency to hold them stiff because of the pain). That helped loosen up my muscles. The worst part is over!

    Congrats!! [boobies]

Thank you everyone for your kind words. For some reason when I wrote the first message not all of it got posted. I was wondering when some of you had your surgery were you in and out of sleep? When I was being operated I kept waking up and feeling a lot of pain. I remember asking the doctor to give me more medication and he told me that he gave me enough meds to knock out his entire team.

The pain is no where near as bad as it was the first 2 days and its weird but my breasts aren't as hard as they were and I must say that so far they look pretty good. When I was first looking into surgery, I thought having a lift and implants would be my best option but the doc who performed my surgery talked me out of it. He said that having a lift done would leave very visible scars and there would be no way to hide them. Instead, he put the implant in over the muscle and filled me with 400cc. I am happy with the results but can hardly wait until friday when the bandages come off so I can shower like a normal person! lol

    kobi...whats is a benili lift??:p
A benili lift is a type of breast lift. They cut around the nipple and take out some extra skin. I had this done about 6 months before I started dancing. By that time the scars had faded enough that they didn't show. When I started dancing that was my biggest hang up. I wore makeup on the scars in the beginning until the girls asked my why I was doing it. They said that you can see them in the dressing room under the bright lights, but you can't see them in the club, even on stage. I checked this out for myself (we had mirrors on the stage) and they were right! So I quit wearing makeup over the scars and don't stress about it. Another girl at another club I worked at had a lollipop lift. That is where they cut around the nipple and a straight line down to the crease like a lollipop. Her scars didn't show that bad either, only in the dressing room could I see them. Scars do take a long time to fade. I wouldn't recommend a lift unless it was absolutely neccesary.
