    Default Stretch Marks

???Hello Everybody:) I had a looong time my computer was on a repairrr and am happy to be back.

I have question:)! What if a pregnant woman has no itching appearing for whole 7 months and BOOM on the 8th month itching around the breasts and abdomen starts , is that means that skin is trying to stretch? I am trying to put as much as possible of that cocoa butter but am afraid that I will have the stretch marks anyways. What is this?:))

    :)Curious ???

I didn't get mine till 3 days before I had my first daughter......Mine are light and can't been seen at a distance, up close if you look you'll see them.....
I have seen alot of girls though, without any kids that have them...Around the breasts or butt....Black lights mask them well and tanning some also helps... Over tanning can make them stand out more, so you have to becareful to also not over do it for the health of your skin...

Cocoa Butter might help a little, but whether you get stretch marks is determined by heredity. You have a certain degree of genetic programming that says exactly how elastic your skin is.

If all the women in your family have stretch marks, you'll probably get them too.

Oh...Seems like it really depends on the genes.

Well funny thing is my mother had stretch marks but they were gone after few years so maybe it will be my case too. So basically there is no 100 % anti stretch mark lotion or cream.

aww thats sad. I know when you dance it doesnt matter but it does when you are modeling.

Anyways I guess i should pray for good

    Thanks for the response!

Itchy skin usually ='s stretching skin.
Hopefully, they will fade nicely and won't be noticeable (hoping you got your mother's genes!)

Retin-A works wonders for getting rid of stretch marks. However, I do not believe that u can use it while pregnant or while u are still breastfeeding. I used it when I had mild acne on my face. Well, U know how teenagers are I started putting it everywhere I had a dark spot. It clearned up my bacne (back acne), the dark spots on my knees, and the new stretchmarks that were starting on my hips. The stretchmarks are still there, but they are the exact color and texture as my surrounding skin. U may want to ask ur doctor about this.

I did not use a product with retin in it. I used the ance medicine called Retin-A. Thats its brand name. I believe I had a really mild type like 0.05%. Its not supposed to be dispensed without a presciption, but a few people are selling it on ebay for decent prices b/c without insurance it is expensive.
Retin-A works, but it does have side effects. Like, when u use it on ur face for acne, ur face gets way worse first and then it gets better. It peels like crazy and u get more acne bumps than u ever had. but that lasts a couple weeks and then when the peeling is done u see a new layer of skin and over time the discolorations fade. When I used it on my stretchmarks no peeling or redness, but I mean, how many people have acne on their hips? It worked well for me and a few others, but ask a doc. Lots of them know that ladies use it and request it for stuff other than facial acne.

There is an actual creme from the doctor FOR pregnancy stretch marks ask your pharmacist - its very expensive and very effective - in fact some dermatologists are recommending it for the face for fine lines etc!

Its almost always sold out but just have your pharmacist re-order it.

It would make sense that retin-a would help these areas since it is used to refine the skin. I would see a dermatologist and get a prescription for it, also ask about tazorac witch is a retin-a equivalent. I use tazorac on my knees and elbows. Be careful and try to steer clear of hyped up stretch mark cream's unless the dermatologist prescribed and/ or recommended it.

Please let us know Brooklyn. How bad are your stretch marks? Mine are very deep and dark and I have always assumed there would be nothing I could do about them. Right now I am using a "firming cream" with retinol, but it is not helping much. I usually just apply make-up before dancing to hopefully make them less noticeable.

    Brooklyn, keep us informed.

Well I had my baby, its has been 3 weeks and I dont have any stretch marks, only that funny line on my stomach. I used soooo much cocoa butter and I see it worked for me .

Avon stretch mark cream is also great!

I don't know if you'd be comfortable sharing it, but do you have a "before" picture? I'll show you my stretch marks if you show me yours.
