I would suggest MAC, Estee Lauder and Lancome. I wouldn't suggest using anything else. Just check out their product and see which one appeals to you more.

MAC all the way...they have the funkiest of colors!!!

I use cover girl foundation and I think it's CG that makes the perfect point plus eyeliner that I use... everything else is just hit or miss...

MAC studio fix( pressed powder), studio tech (light foundation), there eyeshadows rock as well.....

i use almay eyeliner , its badass cuz it has tea trea , chamomile and all that good stuff in it, i like cover girl blush that come in three different shades in one compact because it accentuates your cheekbones better, and cover girl lipsticks because it dosen't come off not matter what...
Foundations: Prescirptives, especially Photochrome
Concealer: Lancome, especially Effacernes
Highlighter: Yves St. Laurant Touch Eclat
Powder: T. Le Clerc, although for a cheap one, Sonia Kashuk (at Target) is good
Blush: Nars, especially Orgasm and Sin
Eyeshadow: MAC, Urban Decay. Jane is good if your looking for something inexpensive.
Eyeliner: Bobbi Brown gel liner for a liquid look. MAC eye kohl for pencil.
Mascara: Bourgois Coup De Theatre, Lancome Definicils. Loreal Voluminous is good if you're looking for a cheap one.
Lipliner: MAC, Stila
Lipstick: MAC
Lipgloss: Chanel Glossimers or MAC Lipglass
ooh...bobbi brown!

MAC and Jane have worked the best for me. They always have a good color selection too.

For me, I religiously get the followings products form Estee Lauder:
Pre-Foundation Tone Evener, Pre-Foundation Skin Perfector, Foundation, Concealer, Eyeshadow, Pencil Eyeliner, Mascara, Powder Blush, Lip Liner, Lip Gloss, Lipstick, PressedPowder, Colored Nail Polish
These products I get from Philosophy:
Shine Control, Liquid Cheek Tint, Liquid Lip Tint
Liquid Eyeliner: Almay
Loose Face Powder: Prescriptives Magic
Clear Nail Polish: Maybelline or Sally Hansen
I think most people can see I'm a rather devoted Estee Lauder junkie... but it's one of the only brands I have found that doesn't destroy my complexion.
As for the Almay liquid eyeliner, this stuff is the best if you wear contact lenses - it won't irritate you eyes to no end like many other brands will.

I have to mention Ben Nye stage makeup for their incredibly long-lasting concealers that come in every shade you could hope to be.
As far as eyeliner, I have yet to find the perfect product though I'm partial right now to Aveda.

You know, now that you mention it, Aveda also has the best heavy coverage foundation I have ever found. Granted, you have to apply it with a little spatula wand and a latex sponge. But for those days when a girl needs a little heavier coverage, it blends well, last long, and doesn't look obvious...

OK Here goes:
Foundation: Clinique Almost makeup or Superbalanced, although I'm looking for something different for winter. Mary Kay looks the best, but won't stay on & I think it smells bad. Photogenic makes me look blue.
Lipstick: Lancome & Estee Lauder
Lipliner: Lancome, Stila & Clinique
Blush: Lancome, Cover Girl or Estee Lauder.
Mascara: Lancome Amplicils, Eternicils or Maybelline Volume Express.
LipGloss: Clinique Glosswear in Air Kiss (discontinued), or Lancome Juicy Tubes in Simmer.
Eye Liner: Lancome or Estee Lauder (my fav is discontinued-Ultima II in Topaz & Pearls)
Eye Shadow: not much on the stuff, but I use Fetish, the black and grey duo. Loved the creme Estee Lauder in browns but it was discontinued. The Lancome I tried is too powdery, gets all over everything when I'm putting it on.
I think thats about it.

Thanks a ton ladies :o
Anything pretty, exotic, and/ or eye catching as long as its hypoallergenic.

Almay anything works for me, as i have sensitive eyes. Pamela.
PS And is does not irritate mine.
i have sensitive eyes too.. certan mascara and eyeliner hurt and irratate them
Colette named a good one Ben Nye for stay-on power. I use it for shoots where the lights are hot & models need heavier coverage and have oily skin...
my personal faves:
I don't wear foundation normally ( I found that my skin isn't as oily when I don't wear foundation), but when I do, I like something light - Bare Escentuals makes a mineral loose powder - to liquid foundation that is light and has no talc or ingredients that will clog the pores and make you break out. You can also use the powder as a great concealer.
Concealer: Christian Dior long-wearing
Powder: Alchemy Metal Mixers
Brow powder: Elizabeth Arden (stays on well!)Liquid Liner: MAC
Eyeshadow: Christian Dior, Lorac & MAC.. sometimes Anna Sui's eyegloss - but it doesn't stay on well, duh.
Mascara: MaxFaxtors 2000 calorie
Blush: (creme) Givenchy - (powder) Lorac
Lipliner: MAC or Lancome's cafe noir
Lipstick: Diorific and Maybelline's Lip Polish - it is the best gloss I've used yet - and I own over 20 glosses from Stila to MAC to Dior.. and it's cheap! If you like gloss, it's a must for your kit.
If you're a Lancome lover - remember it's owned by Revlon, so you can pretty much find the same products and pay a fraction of the price!

I use all MAC for my colors: blush, eyes, lipliner. I find their pigments stay the longest, while other brands for everyday wear (Prescriptives, Lancome, Clinique) rub or sweat off, and I have to re-apply several times a night. MAC's "silver dusk" highlighting powder works wonders! I use it everywhere for a shimmer without glitter!
My best secret is Bobbie Brown cream foundation. I have very oily skin and I hate liquid foundation. This stuff is difficult to describe, but its WONDERFUL!!!! It goes on like a cream, but dries instantly for a matte, powdery finish so you don't need pressed powder.

BTW, Lancome is owned by Cosmair, the same company that owns L'oreal. Revlon is owned by a different company.
WOW I cant believe Air Kiss is discontinued. =(
Thank Goodness I have one that I havent opened...but where it is IS the mystery
you are right! - my typo - i should know this, my girlfriend is their chemist. TOO many m/u companies out there is all i know -BTW, Lancome is owned by Cosmair, the same company that owns L'oreal. Revlon is owned by a different company.

I hardly ever wear makeup. But when I am going out, or taking photos then I use Covergirl. It's not heavy, it's virtually weightless (geez do i sound like a walking advertisement or what)

The best lip gloss is Urban Decay sold at sephora stores. It is the shiniest one i have ever found and it stays put. They are about $16 a piece.
