Default I did it, so what now?

I start my first time at a club on Friday, I went and checked it out, it looks like a nice place and there is real money potential, dances cost $25, so maybe that's good or bad. I jsut want to know how to groom, get ready, make-up, etc. Any suggestions?

I can cover one base for you that a lot of dancers find difficult-your eyes!
A couple things to consider: Your eye color and skin tone. Also, the shape of your eye.

Darker colors compliment light eyes-really makes them pop. Earth tones and washes of bright color go well with dark eyes.

Start by applying an eye cream and/or an eye base. Make sure you've concealed dark circles and other little flaws. Set with powder. Rim your eyes with black eyeliner. I actually lift my top eyelid and get the inner rim. When I let go and blink, it transfers to your lower eye rim. Line the top of your lash line as well.

You want to start off with the dark colored eyeshadow. Makeup brushes are much better than sponge applicators, by the way. Anyhow, sweep some of it over your eye, concentrating on the crease.

*NOTE!!!! Cream eyeshadows crease horribly, unless you are dealing with MAC paints.

A sparkly iridescent color goes onto your eyelid next. Shimmery white powder in the inner corners of your eyes. Same color goes on browbone.

If you are applying false eyelashes, use just a little adhesive and apply them with tweezers so you can "pinch"them into your natural lashesand get it ultra close to your lash line.

Now pull your eyelid taut and draw a line on your lid using a liquid liner. If you keep your mouth open, you are less likely to blink. Curl lashes and put on 2 coats of mascara. You can put a little bit of white mascara on the tips. It makes your eyes pop.

Don't go overboard with your eyebrows. Follow your natural shape when drawing them in. Soft, feathery strokes look better overall than a heavy line, unless it is part of your look.

Close your eyes now, and lightly spray them with aerosol hairspray. Now your make up is set.

    Hope this helped!

Wow, thanks, the hairspray really works? What about sweating, is that a big problem? Does baby powder work or is there something better?

ive also heard a teeny bit of hairspray helps with sweating, but i dont know if id be willing to do that. try body sprays with a somewhat high content on alcohol. something about it makes sweat evaporate faster.

juliette--creams do tend to crease easily, but they are the only thing that works for me. i hate powder shadows!! if you dust a little powder in top of your eyelids before using creams, it helps a bit.

I've used the hairspray trick for stage (in my old band) and it worked great! I am a little leary of doing it nightly, though.

Re: cream shadows, I used the MAC paints as Juliette noted and they never crease. Powder on top of them stays well, too.

My makeup trick for sweating is to use those little powdered botting papers. They are small enough to carry in my purse at work so I can just duck into the ladies room and blot my skin a bit and reemerge ready to entice!

I am a big fan of false eyelashes, as well. Nothing got me more complements than my showgirl eyes

Also you are gonna want to keep baby wipes near you because they get the lint off of your hiny. (the particles that you cant see!) Deodarant is a must. In the aricle section it tell you everything that you will need. It is a little checklist for your bag. Good luck!

i would not recomment using hairspray to prevent sweating-- no way.. it will make you sticky and gross
