    Default Gaining Weight

I'm trying to find a way to gain weight, but I want to be healthy about it. I'm tired of hearing that I'm too small, too skinny etc. I'm 5'2 and I only weigh about 110 (if that) and I wear a zero. I'm trying to get to at least a 2 if not a small 4...

I've heard that drinking slimfast will actually make you gain weight if you eat normally with them.

Also, the half carb half protein six times a day diet will help you build muscle mass quickly if you excercise.

good advice Lena!! Increase carbs always puts on weight.
My little sister is very very thin and I picked her up weight gain shakes when I was picking up my low cal protein shakes LOL! Couple shakes a day in addition to her regular eating worked wonders.
She never realised how thin she really was until someone came up to the stage with a twenty dollar bill and told her to buy herself some lunch, I wanted to laugh because well... thats funny but she's my sister and she cried...it broke my heart!
So I bought her the big ass econo weight gain shakes.

I CAN EASILY HELP YOU GAIN WEIGHT-just tell me what you eat every day and I will give you a corrected diet and a weight lifting program to go with the diet

It is a really interesting dynamic to me. I am a "bikini bar stripper" and a legitimate actress in LA. I am 5'2" and when I went to the doctor last month, I weighed 103lbs. and I have been wearing size 0 for a long time. Even when I weighed a little more.

Now here is the thing, by "dancer standards" I am considered pretty thin, some guys say too thin.
But buy film standards, I am NOT thin. By rock music an standards, I am pretty damn healthy! I have been typed as "athletic" by LA commercial and film standards. So, actually I had been trying to cut my body fat maybe 3%.

Over the Idependence Day holiday, I went to Vegas to see my parents. They cook and eat a ton of food. I didn't work out really at all while I was there and I am having the worst PMS this month. Therefore, I feel I put on about five lbs. of water weight.

I go back to work yesterday and wouldn't you know it? The guys love the extra...skin!! I wish I could.

I know I am rambling. It is just that the dynamics are so strange.

    Cheers,

Ensure is great, we use it for anorexic patients in the hospital. As well as a high carb diet.

In combination with these added frequently, also eat a good healthy meal with apples oranges ect.
You want to keep you kindneys as well as liver functioning properly.

smartass answer-drink lots of beer, get married and get a desk job...guaranteed weight gain.

real answer- back when i was athletic the only way i could put on weight was carb loading...pasta, pasta and more pasta.

Thanx guys. The way I'm going, I should damn well try them all...lol To anabolic- Seriously, when I'm in the mood to eat (which sometimes isn't very often- like today) I'll eat whatever my notion is. Today I had Spaghetti & 4 meatballs, but that was it. When I'm at work, my customers are always feeding me, so I could eat anything from Lobster Raviolli (my fav) or buffalo chicken fingers. There aren't many things that I don't or will not eat with the exception of pork(religious reasons) and some seafood...

Breads, pasta, in fact any food loaded with carbohydrates will make you gain weight.

it could be that she is very lean and most of her weight is made up in muscle? As was my little sister too - she had a six pack that girl but never went to the gym! Its that old numbers game that can be very tricky - 2 people at the same weight and height can be two completely different body types. One can be soft n soggy and the other hard lean and defined. Although the same weight - one would naturally think the softer girl heavier -
I went thru a freak out about that a while back, there was a friend of mine who was talking about her weight and she wanted to lose yada yada, she was a smidge taller than me but I outweighed her by double digits, yet she looked flabby fat -ish but I was not only shorter but I weighed MORE, and I was flipping out about my weight again!
That muscle/fat ratio combo difference thing coming back into play.

You know something Leigh? You're right. People ask me all the time how I got my stomach so tight, or why my legs DON'T shake when i walk. The fact is I'm nothing but muscle. it's kinda sickening; no body fat? I know that some people would kill to have this problem, but not me...

To Asia- Yes, I really AM a 0. I didn't want to believe it, but my bf bought me some really cute jeans around my birthday (Nov) (size 2)and they fit perfectly. He asked me to wear them the other day, so I put them on, and POLITELY asked me to take them off... He then said we were going to get something to eat. My family cracks jokes constantly, and it's really starting to piss me off, because i know I eat. I'm NOT anorexic buy any strecth, so what's wrong???

switch to whole milk, consume more pasta, Enjoy fatter cuts of meat, no need to eat 'junk food' there is simply no need to be unhealthy about gaining weight by any stretch.

I am 5ft 7inches and i weigh 8stones and i am a size 6.My stats have always been 32C-24-31 aprt from when i was pregnant when i actually put on 1stone and a half, taking me to 9 and a half stones(which did leave me amazed that i could actually put on weight!).obviously between the baby(6lbs04oz) and the watersac, once i'd actually given birth there was nothing of the extra weight left and to be honest i never expected it to stay around.Which brings me to a Q.Is it possible that my new HIPS(which i adore)I have now sprouted has led to my waist disappearing?I actually seem to be losing weight as i get older!or more accurately i stay the same but my waist is shrinking?!.I do a couple of stints of prolonged circuit training twice a year and that does help me put on a bit but i know it is made up of muscle so all that happens is as my muscle begins to relax everyone starts going on about me losing weight again.I have a fantastic appetite but we were brought up on huge portions so it is nothing out of the ordinary but i have such a high metabolic rate that i expend every last kj as energy.I guess you could say i have an effective metabolism.I am just about to commence a training period and look forward getting into my size 8.It can be weird knowing you wear the same size clothes as you did when 11!

So is it possible that my waist is getting smaller?without affecting anything else shape wise? or is there another explanation?

cynn, you are lucky as hell to have this problem!! good for you. most likely your metabolism is just extremely fast and burns up all the food you eat; it is probably much faster because, as you said, you are all muscle, & muscle burns fat, as we all know.
i guess if you want to gain weight, eat whatever you want!! pasta, cheesecake, bread, whatever. it does not seem like you will be getting big and fat anytime soon! while you are eating pasta i will be back to my diet. hehe. good luck.

At work it has been noticed that I picked up a few lbs, and now they're callin' me cupcake (yeah, cute huh?) I'm lovin every pound of it though (even though @ 117 it isn't much)....

Yeah, that's what I'm hearin'. I can't stop lookin' at my own butt!! :o I really hate to sound like a complaining little bitch, but now it's this muscle thing. My arms are huge (muscle definition)!! i'm making some guys feel bad. I know where it came from (lifting from splits on stage), but how do I stop it?? ??? Now I have guys asking me if I do any type of wight training. I only train 6 months of the year (I run track) so I really don't.

PS- I'm off the pasta thing now, its' been Pizza Hut Cheesy Bread lately...

Gotta go, it's that time [bong] [smokin] Get me??

Well, yeah. My arms are a little too muscular. Maybe I should just lay off it. My jeans fit, and I guess that's all that matters.

Ms. G- Did b.c. and Depo; neither worked, both made me moody. 114-- Heavy??? Well, I guess "to each her own", but I was about 110 and hated it. The anorexic look on me isn't pretty, I'm too petite (5'2"). So, here we are @ 117 and loving every pound
