There's this stuff that I just tried and it helped pretty quick. It's called "Zycam". It's a nasal swab or a nose spray that you use every four hours. I think its' primary component is zinc which has been proven to reduce the effects of a cold.
You may be able to cut the duration of the virus with Zinc and others at the pharmacy. Ask first. Once you have the cold, you pretty much need to let it run it's course.
Nothing beats the common cold better than R&R!
Hope you feel better soon,

I am a big believer in steam!
Fill a big bowl with hot, hot, water and hang your head over it with a towel covering your head to keep the heat in.
You will drip alot, sweat and snot!
But it helps clear your sinuses. Do this a few times. The shower also works well, but I prefer the bowl method.
Also take some neocitran before bed and get a good sleep!
If you still feel crappy when you have to go to work,
extra strength, non drowsy, sudafed, works best for me!
Just dont drink alcohol with it!![]()

i recommend medicinal teas with: echinacea purpurea (immune system), ephedra (the plant- there should be 1-3 mg ephedrine alkaloids in 1 serving- this is different than ephedrine pills which have 20-25mg per serving- the chinese have used the ephedra plant to support clear breathing for thousands of years), slippery elm bark, elder flower & yarrow flower (coats sore throats), licorice root, marshmallow root- an herbalist can make teas for your symptoms
also take a whole clove of garlic (this clears the respiratory and improves circulation), mash it up in a mortar and pedestal (if you have one, few people do these days) eat the entire thing. eat about 4 or 5 cloves a day and you'll feel better (a bath and brushing your teeth removes the smell)
take a hyssop bath. put one tablespoon of hyssop in 1 boiling cup of water. let sit for 5 minutes then add into the bath. this removes the garlic smell and helps your sinuses.
lots of fluids. go easy on the juice, but definitely try and consume lots of hot drinks and wear warm clothing (even if it's 80 degrees out). this will help flush the illness through your body.
stay away from western traditional cold remedies (such as nyquil). these only mask the symptoms. the syptoms are your body's way of reacting to an illness (ex: fever). western medications only mask the symptoms which trick your body into not reacting to the virus and actually making it last longer. medicines such as nyquil, dry out your sinuses and dont let your body drain out the illness like medicinal teas would.
i would recommend resting- running around with no clothes and dancing only pushes your body harder and will make you sicker and take longer to get better. you're better off missing a week of work now than missing a month of work later.
