    Default Coloring Hair

I want to color my faded, blah hair into a richer brown shade. There are so many hair color brand out there,

Has any one had a really good experience with a certain one? Or any horrible experiences? All I have been told is to stay away from sun-in

    Thanks!

Be really careful when choosing a shelf brand of coloring... never mix brands, if you are going to do it yourself, find one and stick with it, and always remember just because it looks that way on the box it will not nessasarily look that shade on you on you.

If you do this yourself try a temnporary wash in rinse or natural type of hair rinse (health food store). Both are more temporary and will give your hair a little boost without being permanent if you don't like it.

    Good luck,

I have used just about all of them... and as I've said before, I like the Expert Colour which is about $18 at Wal-Mart. It has a base color and a highlight color that matches well with the base. The base color is really rich from my experience (though it varies I'm sure).
One brand I dont like is the Hydrience one, the color seems to fade and become dull quicker than others.
And as mentioned in previous post, don't mix brands.

    Hope that helps, :-)

oh, and it's always good to have a trusted friend do it for you. That way it can be done evenly and well the dreaded back of the head is just easier that way.

Re: Feria, I've had trouble with the medium-dark browns washing out and looking dull. Maybe it is just my hair, dunno. I'm personally back to being a salon girl.

On the same note, if you are not doing highlights too (since the following will often turn them weird colors) Try Artek color depositing conditioner. They have so many colors that you can find a close one and help keep the color longer. Dyed brown can go blah and monotone pretty easily.

    Advice before proceeding:

If you are going lighter/darker more than two levels of your natural color, or looking to chnge it completely, I would go to a salon....especially if your hair is dark. If you have to wait to save up, keep in mind your hair is better the way it is now than if you would have had a coloring accident.

Ask a person whose hair you admire where they get theirs done.

ooohh yeah ive dyed my hair since i was 14.. all colors except blue and pink.. want some advice leave your hair alone *if its natural and your wanting to dye*but if its dyed and your wanting to get it to natural.. save up for the salon... most hair dyes out there look nothing like on the box when you use them.. trust me i know hehe.. they either are to red.. or to purple.. or to of somthing else.. and when most fade out.. your left with a reddish brown
