Default anyone tried clip on hair extensions??

My hair has gotten shorter and shorter because of bleaching it and breakage, and I want my long hair back! These looked intriguing on the raquel welch site. You just clip them in before work or whenever, and take them out after. Any experiences with these?
Also, if I decided to go with regular extensions, how does that work if you dye your roots every month? Thanks for any info!

I have long blonde hair, and purchased some long black clip on extensions.
I just clip them close to the scalp hair and go. I only wore them on webcam or at the club.
They are cheap, not real hair, but very 'funky'!
Changed my look. We have a Bealls outlet here in Fl. and i found them there. I got like a pack of 12 for 6 bucks. They never fell out. Also there are the velcro ones that just stick inside your hair, they don't stay in the wind though.
I just played with them. You can get real hair for serious wear. Gosh...All types.
Call a local hairdresser, ask them to refer you to a salon who does extensions.
    Good luck,
    Pamela

I was ALWAYS curious about the clip-in hair extenstions that Priscilla Presley used to talk about on the shopping network. anyone remember those??? the gals sat around and just talked about their hair for an hour or two? I was a teen back then with no money and now when I finally can afford to get them the product probably doesn't exist anymore. anyone remember the name of them or know anyone that tried it? Could they have been called Luxurious Hair??? yeaaah i think that was it.

I have been making my own clip on extentions for years now, because I like to do as little to my own hair as possible. Buy the hair on a weft at a beauty supply store, they should also have toupe clips for men. Get these also. I like to use three per row. Sew them on to the weft, attach them to the hair and you are good to go.

I actually worked with a buddy who just bought one and wore it last nite. It looked really good. Her natural hair is really heavily damaged and she wears lots of extensions. Last nite she had a big banana clip with the hair attached- its technical name is a fall. She had one horizontally placed high near the crown sorta looked like she had her hair swept back from her face and pinned into a sexy tousled kinda deal and she had another in back that was smaller that she had placed across the back of her head that looked just like she had pinned the top and just let the back of her hair hang. The new girls had no idea, and the customers didn't notice either.
They are kinda expensive if you buy them over the net and can be cheesy looking if you go for fake synthetic looking hair. Also, its a weird thing to pick out without being there. I suggest going to a beauty supply store-not Sally's- a big beauty supply store that sells bulk and weft hair, hair products, wigs, nailpolish, etc. The bigger the store the better the selection tends to be. Tell the people at the counter what you are looking for and they will help. You may have to spend 3 bugs for one of those sanitary nets b/4 they allow you to try the ponytails in your hair, but they always open the packages and let you touch, feel, and compare the hair. Hope it helps.

i always wear hairpiecs, my real hair is about shoulder length, so i wear a "fall" that comes halfway down my back.
they're great, and if you get a good colour match. no one will know the difference!
only thing is that they don't last terribly long, and can look a bit ratty if you don't look after them properly.
i definately feel sexier with my hairpiece in.

I totally agree with minky. I've danced now for 2 years and have never gone with out my hair piece or extension clip ons. I have pretty shoulder length hair BUT long hair makes more mula! Plus it gives me an added security of not being reconized every where I go! Just make sure when flirting with girls on stage to make money they all know about your extension so they wont accidentally pull it. It's never happened to me because they ALL know but I'm sure it would be horrible!! lol

I tried a clip on ponytail with drawstrings. It had velcro on the clip and on the hair piece so you could take it off and just tie it around your hair with the drawstrings. It looks alot better without the clip so I took it off and tied it around my hair. I thought it was on good but obviously it wasn't, it flew off on main stage on a Saturday night when it was really packed. It was so embarrassing. I didn't pick it up or anything, I just laughed and kept on dancing. It seemed like when I went to the next stage, more guys were tipping me. Maybe because they felt sorry for me...

After that I stopped wearing clip on hair pieces and started wearing hair extensions. I glue on tracks of hair and it looks really natural. You can wash it and wear it up or down. I glue them on myself, but if you go get it done they'll probably charge you between $20.00 - $100.00. There are different ways to put on extensions but gluing them in is the most natural looking way to do it.
