    Default Period confusion

I was wondering if anyone has had this happen to them and knew what it meant? I am 25 years old and have been on the Pill for about 9 years. I've bene with the same guy for 5 years and we have sex regularly, I guess. Anyhow, at least once or twice a month I forget to take a pill and just skip over it and am fine (I think my body is so regulated to the Pill that a day without one wouldnt make a difference). But my periods are always regular and predictable -always comes at the end of my pill pack and I usually have it for about 6 days. Well this past cycle I missed a lot of pills -I'd say about 4. I doubled up one day and just made sure to stay faithful for the rest. Well, my period came a little late, and it was it's usual 6 days and stopped on Friday. Then today (Sunday) I am bleeding again! I am so lost. This has never happend to me. Is this normal? I dont know if I am spotting or if I am about to start a whole new period. Has this ever happened to anyone? Do you guys think it's just because I screwed up my pill cycle this month? I took a pregnancy test today but it was negative. I hope to God there is no way that I somehow was pregnant and this extra "period" is my body's way of releasing something that went wrong?? I am going to see a doctor tommorow but any thoughts would be really appreciated. Anyone ever experienced double periods on the pill after YEARS of being so regular?

Kaiya there are alot of women who can not get pregnant for almost a year after going off the pill. But then there are alot of women who get pregnant forgetting one day.

I don't think it's wise to take that many pills because you are forgetting many days in a row. You are messing up your cycles this way.

Shedding your uterine lining is a period, and it should be done monthy when on the pill. Some will get crazy periods off and on at the start, but most level out to whats normal for them. But that many pills at once is over-kill on your system.

Do whatever it takes to remember everyday you need one. I don't want to see you pregnant if you don't want, or needing a D&C in the future to clean you out. Or worse yet having a serious side effect.

If you have trouble remembering the pill everyday, you might consider doing the patch thing. A friend of mine is using it and really likes it. She says its a lot easier for her to remember once a week instead of once a day.

It happened to me before but several years ago. Had been on the pill for awhile and then missed one. Did the double up thingy and then started a new pack even though I knew that there was no way in hell I could be pregnant. I believe once you miss four or more you are supposed todouble up and then take one a day until sunday and then start a new pack.
Anyway, I didn't have a period for nine weeks when they had been coming every four weeks late fri/early sat. Because of the double up my body stayed convinced that I was pregnant, the pill tricks your body into thinking you already are which is why your period comes during the placebo week, so I had no period that month and did not have one until the next month. I started for two days stopped for three and then started back again and was on for two more. No spotting in between at all. Doc said no problem just the pill regulating itself. It was kinda scary then but it turned out to be no big deal really.

Also hun, let me know what happens...Please. I have heard that if you do get pregnant, too many birth control pills can make you abort, or have a child that may be handicapped.
PM me....Please, hope all is fine. Hell i know all is fine, i just worry about these things!
