    Default Brown Eyes - Eyeshadow

My fav. is my purple from lancome. I also use an occasional blue, or rose shades by loreal.

I love eyeshadow ~ Its one of my favorite makeup items. For you brown-eyed ladies what colors do you use to make your eyes pop?

I use MAC Krisp which is a light gray to highlight and MAC Print, dark gray/almost black, for that sluty Jenna Jameson look. The only picture in the gallery of me with my work make-up on, is the one where I've got the dark hair and wearing the blue outfit.

I use black liner on the inside lids with thick brown liner on the bottom. Light sparkly brown shadow, with a little touch up of darker brown, and sparkly pink. I put just a trace of the sparkly pink under my eyeliner on my bottom lid and that really makes the eyes pop.

    Hi Indica

Since it's the summer, I like to make my face look less "done". I brush a sparkly burgundy into my crease and wash over my whole lid with gold. Then I contour my browbone with a pearly white. Very simple. And since it's not very dark, I have more room for mistakes. Just gotta blend, blend, blend!

I love using my Shimmer Golds on my eyes.My favourite is Bourjouis'Pastel Lumiere'Pearl Eyeshadow in the shade of 'COC DE ROCHE 65' and even with al my sweating it stays on.Also worth trying for that sparkly gold dust look is'Miners megadust supashine shadow' in '13 IMPERIAL KHAKI.

I am really dark skinned and have really dark brown eyes, which i thought were black for years(!) so the effect of the eyeshadows i have listed act as a proper contrast and draws all gazes to MINE.

'Miners' are based in England but i am sure 'Bourjois' is easily procured over there in the states.

For shading i normally use some clay brown with my golds, but what is also striking is emerald green offset with slate grey and if i am in good lightning(!)i might tie that in with a dimmed silver,so the only shimmer is from the green with a soft accent from the siver which offsets it nicely with the grey acting as a great barely there balancer.

And the secret to perfect shading?

    Blend,blend,blending
    in per-fect lighting.

My eyes are black too; but in the sunlight they look more brown so I just say (when filling out ID stuff) that they're brown. I'm white so I can't figure out why I have black eyes! ???

Me too. In the light you can tell that my eyes are actually dark dark brown (if you look closely) but in the club they look black, and I've actually had people tell me they look like a dark purple.

I get comments on them alot, especially since I really do use them in dancing. Mostly that I have "evil eyes"

I love sparkly brown eyeshadow. What are some good brands that are sparkly without actual glitter bits in them? I can't seem to find that anymore.

Hard Candy? What store will I find that in? I don't think I've seen it around.

I have blue eyes with green, so i use a pencil liner that is either a light brown, or a any colour in the brown family. Then i smudge it with my finger for a smokey look, with a highlighter under my eyes.
Black is way to harsh looking on me.

Also for brown eyes, a copper colour makes them pop out as does a deep green. I alwasy heard that you don't want to use the same colour as your eyes.

If i use blue colour or anything in the green family, it just seems to blend in with the eye, and does not make my eye colour stand out.

Also mixing colours works wonders too for the eye!

Hi Mariah! Old Skool can be found at http://www.sephora.com
It's a Hard Candy Product, but there are little glitter flecks in the dark brown shadow-they are more metallic looking.
It's a compact with four different colors...but they are VERY complimentary to brown eyes.

I use beiges, taupes, sparkly browns, green, darkblue, dark browns, lavenders and soft pinks, but the best looking color on my eyes though has got to be bright brown-based or orange-based gold shades. L'oreal's 3pack eyeshadow has a pack called Tasselled Taupes that I have been using since I was 14 when I wore eyeshadow like twice a year.
The best golds draw your attention a couple feet away while walking down the aisle in a drugstore or its the shiniest one in the case at department store makeup counters. Like drag queen 24kt gold- I have several versions of golds for work that always do well. I usually wear orangey, reddish, or brownish golds b/c for all the gold I like yellow is the worst color in the world to ever put anywhere on my body. Between my haircolor, eyecolor, and skin undertones yellow look absolutely gross on me....but orange looks great! Also, silver and I just don't clique. It makes me look pasty and my skin look flaky or something.

The sparkly brown that I use is from CG and I think it's called irridescent sands or something like that.

I agree about the gold... I also will use a red/maroon lip liner and fill in with it, and then put gold lipstick in the middle (blending, blending) and glossy stuff over.
