Default razor bups and ingrown hairs

When I shave my pubic area I always get razor bumps and ingrown hairs even though I use a ton of Bikini Zone. And If I try to keep up the smooth look by shaving every 3 days or so it just gets worse!
    Any recommendations would help. Thanks!

The electric razor is the only thing that has consistently worked for me without bumps. I highly recommend getting yourself a good, rechargable women's razor. You can shave anything with it and not suffer ingrown hairs.

Oh, right now I just have a $30 Panasonic that is great. Be sure to get a wet/dry one so you can use it in the shower. Also be sure it's go a pop-up trimmer, which is handy. It might take a while for you to get used to it, but I think it's worth it.

wouldn't an electric hurt in that area? I use a mach 3 and shaving cream-the key is using a good after shave to minimize any pain afterwards
    guess who's back? back again

I don't think it could hurt anymore than hot wax. :o I've had a wax done before and it wasn't all that bad, so a razor cant be any worse.

heres what i do...ive been shaving all of the hair for quite some time now. i never get ingrown hairs.

first, exfoliate with a CLEAN loofah puff. i recommend keeping one esp. for that area. bacteria is breeding grounds for ingrowns.

the, being SUPER gentle, exfoliate with some sea salt. you can buy it most places like CVS and stuff. just sprinkle a little in your hands and rub gently. i use sea salt all over my body sometimes, feels great. like going to a spa and getting rubbed down with salt...it really works.

use a brand new razor blade every time you shave that area. no exceptions! slather on tons of shave gel made ESP for bikini area. let it sit on the area for a couple minutes to get the hair soft. then shave in the OPPOSITE direction of hair growth.

use a lotion with alpha hydroxy acid in it. will moisturize and exfoliate at the same time.

I spent years trying to figure out the best way to remove hair down there with the least amount of bumps & ingrown hairs and finally have found the best method (for me, anyway). I don't shave, I wax it all off. It hurts a lot the first time, but gets less painful each time. I go to a salon for the waxing, though I have tried to do it myself (not worth the time). It costs about $30. The hair becomes more fine over time, which is a definite bonus. I go back every 3 weeks or so & in between waxings I tweeze the areas that fall outside of where the g-string covers. After tweezing, I use an after-wax lotion (I used to use a mixture of tea tree oil and chilled aloe vera gel, which worked almost as well).

Every day after I shower, I use Tend Skin (an exfoliant), which you can buy at a salon or somewhere like ebay. It really works! You have to use it for several months before it begins working but I hardly ever get an ingrown hair.

Aveeno makes a line of products called Positively Smooth: shave gel and moisturizing lotion. It's supposed to help with smoothness and allow you to shave less often. I've used it on my legs for about a month and it seems to be taking effect. Maybe you can try it on your bikini area?

When I shaved, I used an Arbonne shave gel for men. I would wait until after showering so that all the steam would get the pores opened up. I massaged the gel into the skin for about a minute (sometimes I would warm up the gel beforehand by putting the bottle in a container of hot water). I would use a brand new blade each time (Mach 3 though I've heard Venus is better). After shaving, I'd immediately splash cold water on the area to close up the pores. It would probably help to use an after-wax balm or the tea tree oil/aloe combo afterwards to soothe the skin. This shaving ritual worked the best for me, but it's still not as good as waxing & using Tend Skin.

Ok so like I should know, but for some reason this work's for me , my wife and any of the girl's that have worked for me and had the same problem. I learned it while I was in the service and had to shave my tender Irish face daily and suffered the same problem's. Sasha and the girl's use it and is work's great. Sasha shave's daily from her pubic area down, 5 day's a week. She use's a triple razor for her leg's and armpit's and a double edged ( trac II plus ) for her crotch. First she take's a bath and soak's in as hot of water as she can comfortably handle. Then she wash's with a loofah and body wash after that she lather's up with ... and get this, it's the secret ..... Safeguard Beige soap, using it to shave with. I don't know why it work's but it has been successful in resovling almost every case of razor bump's and ingrown hair's that I have seen. It would seem to me that the biggest plus I see is that the soap film readily rinse's out of the razor unlike jel's and conditioner's that tend to plug them up.

Yeah, any of the clear, unscented mens deoderants are supposed to help. All they really do seal the pores so that stuff doesn't get in, I think, but a lot of girls swear by it.

My routine is to take a hot bath with lots of baby oil. The baby oil is very important. Then shave underwater. I always shave in the direction of the hair, then go back and go diagonal to that in some spots. On days where there's no bath time, I just splash the area with lots of baby oil, then shaving cream and shave. I use a match three turbo thing, and I use TendSkin every day.
