If you use the search function, I think you will find a few suggestions. What kind of scarring do you have? There are silicone sheets or creams you can buy that will help reduce it. Laser may be an option.
    Dermablend is a good concealer

First of all, if you constantly moisturize them with Vitamin E, they will fade a little more over time. Old cutting scars turn white after a while. I sure hope there aren't any new ones! If you want to talk some more, you can pm me .
Take care and try dermablend, like angelina said.

for cover up purposes, Dermablend is fab.

for fading...try Cocoa Butter. like Juliette said, the Vitamin E thing works, and cocoa butter is loaded with vitamin e, plus lots of other scar fading things. also firms skin.

If the scars are textural, there may be fillers that may work for you. If the scars are more discoloration, a dermatologist may have something for you that will even the skin tone out. Don't use vitamin E on new scars. When I went for plastic surgery, both times the different docs specifically instructs not to use vitamin E before or after the surgery.

They do the permanent makeup on scars now in a flesh color to make them blend in.

Retin A or Renova (the cousin) seem to produce great results over a few months period with helping some scars. Old scars, not too sure about.

Anything Alpha Hydroxy can be good for scars, but go over a 8 percent solution.

Retin A and Renova are prescription.

These Alpha Hydroxy products create rapid cell turn over, which makes for newer skin faster!

I think she means a different kind of scar though- I am guessing raised ones from years ago that AHA's wont do too much for, except the chichen pox ones. Hopefully they are in a not-so-conspicuous space. Makeup blends flawlessly in many places these days!

If you don't mind me asking, how do you respond to people who ask about self-inflicted scars? I have one around my ankle. Many people think it is a tan line form wearing an anklet and I don't correct them. If people ask directly, I sometimes say "well, it's kind of personal" or "it's embarrassing, i don't want to talk about it." Which usually makes for uncomfortable silence. But I think the silence would be more uncomfortable if I said "well, in a fit of rage I encircled my ankle with a knife".

Can you say it's a scar (that is honest), and when they say "how did it happen" ? say it happened along time ago and now it's my signature mark! Smile with the remark.

Nothing else needs to be said, too personal. It's your business.
