    Default More hair advice needed

Thanks for the tips for my split ends situation. It seems that heat is a big culprit. But I don't know how else to do my hair. It is straight and hangs limp and flat and is really unattractive unless I do something to it. I usually curl it or use a wave iron. What are some other ways to style my hair that would give me volume and texture? I really like that clumpy toussled look, but have no idea how to do this. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

I like the way my hair looks after I shampoo and condition then I let my hair air dry without combing. Definately not a polished look, more "freshly fucked".

Or when my hair is dry I "set" it by winding it loosley around those figure 8 rollers and sleep on it. Gives me a wavey look without the heat.

I think what you use to finish your hair affects how it looks too. I used the water wax not only to seal the ends but they tame flyaways at my part. Some kind of lightweight finishing creme adds texture and definition when I wave my hair. It all starts with a good cut though to be able to wash and go.

My hair is super fine and fragile btw.

    Hi Anais,

You can braid your hair when it's wet, sleep on it, then undo it and run your fingers through to seperate the clumps OR brush it out straight only it will have a lot of volume.

For a chunky toussled curly look, use a spray on conditioner, then a curler (I like the John Freida one, you can get it at Wal Mart, but the bedhead one also works) spray and scrunch and spray and scrunch. Once it's all scrunchy, use a strong hold hair spray, and spray and scrunch with that. When you flip your head back over you'll have chunky curls.

Another thing to do with limp hair is to use a volumnizing conditioner, then a volumnizing mouse, then turn it upside down while you really work that through - flip back over and you'll have a touselled chunky look.

those long cloth tubes with a wire inside - you wind your hair around and bend them shut - no heat! sleep in them or if your hair is dry just mist with spray gel and roll em up while you get ready (do make up etc) and they'll be dry to unroll - finger fluff and spray to set!

those mist sponge rollers are good too.

I sometimes use those huge velcro rollers. Even though I have thick hair they will stay in without any pins. They give great volume to hair.

For the sex hair I towel dry hair and work a mid range amt of gel into it. Then gather my hair on top of my head all scrunched up and bobby pin it. (no pony tail holders they cause the dreaded indent) Let air dry and take down and run fingers through brushing is a personal choice but for this style I don't. This style could be hard for girls with hair much past the chest area and can take a long time to dry.

    Lena is sooo right,
put your hair in 4 braids while it is still damp. Sleep, and in the morning take them out, run fingers through your waves, and flip your hair upside down and put mouse underneath only.

Brush very gently with boar bristles only. Brush less often. Wide tooth comb is better, and never brush when wet. Wide tooth comb only. I let my hair just dry wet with out combing it.
Hair is stronger when dry. Buy products for severly damaged hair, and use hot oil treatments twice a week.
    Good luck, Pamela
