Default LASER MOLE REMOVAL . . . ANYONE?

I have a small mole that is slightly raised on my upper cheek.
However, I don't really like it and have been thinking about having it removed.
I seen some adds for laser mole removal and have been wondering if it actually works? Does this procedure leave scars?

I don't know if it will work ???. A mole is like a weed unless you get it at its roots it will grow back. I had a mole (it didn't have any piment so people always thought it was a zit, nightmare!) removed and they had to cut it out and remove the roots to be sure it would never return I even had to have stiches. After I first had it done I had a pothole mark and was very consious of it even if it did look better that the mole. Now like 5 years later it is pretty much evened out and noone notices.
More on point I think you should see your dermatologist to see how invasive this procedure might be. Lots of things can change in 5 years!

They seem to want to use laser to help every problem today, and i can see why, it cuts the doctors work time down, and healing is 'usually faster with less chance of infection.
Will laser leave a scar on a mole you want removed? Probably so. It leaves fine scars on alot of procedures done.

Pluss a mole needs to be evaluated before removal. Like Vegas said some are deep rooted, and pre-cancerous. Any good doc. will look at it first, and maybe lance it.
No doctor can promise 'no scar'. Or should not.

Thanks for the input. I'm going to do more research before I make any decisions.

I know this is a million years old, but has anyone actually tried this? Does it work? Which type of laser did you use?

^^ i'd like to know too, the only mole removal methods i've heard of are excision (cutting) & cauterization (is that laser?)
If anyones had one removed, what type of scar does it leave?

I've had it done... I don't know what kind of laser it was. The mole was on my back an huge and raised. It was like the size of a pencil eraser. I did it because I didn't want stitches since I was dancing. It didn't hurt at all (she used local anesthetic.) it left like a little round scab which when it fell off left a round scar that in my case looked a bit like a cigarette burn scar. Now it's faded to pretty much nothing (it's been 3 years). Only 2 people have ever mentioned the scar.

I bought a bloodroot based cream online and it worked great on a raised one, no scar or anything and it's completely gone. But I tried it on a flat/spot one in a different location and it didn't have much effect...maybe if I kept trying it would have worked but the flat one doesn't bother me so it wasn't worth the effort
