    Default Implant Rippling

I got mine in early March, and now that the swelling is gone, one has visible dents/rippling. One dent is visible while standing and then the whole inside of my one boob caves in when I lean left. I have a Dr Appt Tuesday, but I'm pretty sure he will make me pay another $6K to fix it
I hear you can qualify to get Silicone instead of saline if the saline ripples (FDA rules)- is this correct? Has anyone done this? I already have submuscular round implants, so I'm not sure what else to do. I'm sick of having to worry about which way i lean in which outfit in certain lighting

While some doctors tell their patients that if their implants ripple they can qualify for silicone--it isn't true. You should know that the "rippling" excuse is not enough to legally qualify for the silicone study. I prefer silicone and wish I had it. There are a lot of doctors who do it illegally, and if you want silicone you should seek one of those doctors out.

Rippling isnt a defect inasmuch as a factor of saline implants. If you have little or no natural breast tissue to cover it the implant will be visible. You can opt to over fill which helps somewhat but gives you a really round boob! (did it for the boob job I had before the set I have now...) I didnt like that look so I had mine completely redone years later.

    Its an option however!

Sub muscular? Meaning behind the muscle? I am surprised anything shows...usually the muscle disguises much of the implant.

I also found massaging them constantly helps appearance, in comprison to some of my friends who never bothered, I work these puppies constantly almost obsessively - the very first doctor really stressed this and told me it was something I should do for the rest of my life with them, so it set into my head and I do it daily.

Wouldnt hurt to ask the doctor about topping them up a few more cc's....

    Good luck!

I've had mine for over 2 years now. They are behind the muscle and I have slight rippling that you can see on the bottoms if I turn a certain way. But the rippling didn't show up until I'd had them for about a year. I spoke to my ps about it as well as a few others. I was told that although normal rippling does not qualify for silicone, someone with extreme rippling would qualify. They consider it to be a medical qualification because the skin is too thin to support your current type of implant. This makes it a medical reason, not a cosmetic one.

If you can't get the silicone, you may want to look into the high profile saline implants. I've read that they don't have as much of a rippling problem as the normal ones. This link might help. http://www.justbreastimplants.com/im..._hp_saline.htm They aren't as wide as normal implants though, so they're not good for those with wide rib cages. They'll leave too much space between the breasts.

I plan to get mine redone in the near future but not unless I can get silicone high profiles. My doctor won't budge on it though. Sara is right, you should probably look for a doc that you know does silicone. www.implantinfo.com is a good source. There are discussion boards there that can be helpful too.

    Best of luck!

two options really - switch to larger silicone implants or have your doctor add another 100cc to your existing implants to force the wrinkles out of the bags. Of course overfilled saline implants do become firmer and rounder, the "Pam Anderson" look.
