When I got mine I felt like when I took off the bra like they were going to fall or something just very strange. So I took a shower in my bra for a week. The first 48 hours are the worst depending on your pain tolerence. But after about a week starting feeling pretty good.I am not sure about when you can move them you can always call and ask one of the nurses.Anyway Congrats!!!Satina

You'll get used to them, it takes time. My doctor told me to start manipulating the breast asap, the next day if at all possible.

PS Did yall see Air Force Amy on Howard Stern? She works at the Bunny Ranch in Nevada, her boobs looked warped!!! I wonder if that's from a lack of massaging.

It's normal for them to seem 'alien' at first. I just got mine a month ago and they didn't quite feel like mine for at least a week. I'm still getting used to them but they definitely feel like mine now! My doc told me to start massaging at 10 days post op - go by what your doc says.

If you're like me, after about 3 months you'll wake up one morning and simply can't remember NOT having "the girls". Right now, though, there are a lot of things you'll have to get used to. For one, typing on a keyboard (which I do a LOT of cuz of my non-stripper job) is gonna be a little wierd. Second, I noticed (and maybe this is just me) that where and how I hold the steering wheel of my car was different and took some getting used to. Finally, sometime in the next month, you WILL run into a door frame. It's just gonna happen.

Sex is different. Trust me. It just is, for two reasons. First, his attitude -- even if he SAYS it won't be -- will be different. Guys are simply ENTHRALLED with 'em. Second, (and do a mental picture of this.... it's actually a little funny)... where you USED to have your boyfriend, now you have boobs. Get it? (It's why so many porn scenes are "doggie style")

Your posture will change. It has to, or you'll have perpetually sore sholders.

Clothes will fit entirely different. Putting on a bra is different now. It's a GOOD different, but it's different, none-the-less.

Let's don't even TALK about the beach.

As for "moving them", some docs are into massage (mine was) and some are not into it. Do what your doc said to do, AND NOTHING ELSE.

yes i felt like they were going to explode at first and yes very aware of the foriegn object that was inside me. i ran into people and things for the longest. couldn have missonary sex for quite sometime, not a huge loss lol. it took me over three months to feel somewhat "normal" others have less of an adjustment time then i did. just be patient and you will love em!

I agree that after 3 months you'll forget that they haven't been "part of you" for years! This is especially true of silicone implants which feel much more natural than salines. Bridgette, I hear you on door frames and corners, but I also have to worry about things like burning the bottom of my breasts when cooking (which I did once when grease splattered out of the frying pan), catching my breasts on the edge of the kitchen counter when going for something in the cabinets underneath, etc. Missionary sex gets even better after "the girls" are completely healed, and also opens the door to certain alternatives you are now "qualified" to do while lying on your back || I also agree, let's not talk about the beach!

I think that's in relation to the swelling. The swelling does weird things to your nerve endings, so once my swelling went down, mine felt very much a part of me.

They are a foreign object....It's not at all weird that a lot of people don't have them "feel like them" or alien right away. Mine were literally accessories for a solid month and didn't even feel apart of myself till the swelling died down and they went more into place. Not at all dumb, totally normal feeling that the surgeon really should have mentioned

On the burn - that is possibly too much movement. I was extra careful on that end since I saw two cases with friends where they did way too much (push ups, regular workout etc) way too soon - with serious consesquences to the asthetics as well as extra pain. The burning sounds like nerve though, or the muscle resettling. If it increases, you should go to see your doc asap....otherwise, just give them a ring to let the office know that you are experiencing something and want to confirm that it's not abnormal. Sounds normal to me, but it's best to talk with your medical provider.....lol.
Glad to hear that it's eased up a bit as a foreign object though

I got some shooting pains that kind of felt electrical or burning in small areas for a couple weeks - doc said that is normal and is caused by the nerves healing. The pain was pretty minor and in small areas and was brief each time. If you got a nipple incision this will be worse because we have a lot of nerves in the nipples and they cut some of them during surgery - that is unavoidable. I also have some numbness in small areas of skin now - doc said that will likely go away with time but sometimes not. One particular spot for me is totally numb. The 'electrical' or burning pains go away shortly and it helps to rub the area a little. If you're feeling burning in the whole boob or chest area, that would be something else entirely.
