I need to tone up a bit...mainly in the waist and bum. I dont want bulky muscle though. Ive heard good things about Pilates, especially the "Pilates for Dummies" book....has anyone done them? Do you get good, visible results?
Thanx-Callie

I've heard Pilates is EXCELLENT! Been meaning to try it myself...but I'm too frickin lazy![]()

I LOVE pilates! It's the only exercise I can rouse myself out of my stupor to do. A good starter video is Crunch Gym's Pick-Your-Spot Pilates; a full booty, thigh and tummy workout in 30 mins!
"Just 'cause she dances go-go, that don't make her a 'ho, no.....called up my Mama, said 'I'm in love with this stripper yo.'"
-Wyclef Jean

I have tried Pilates and I can't get enough! I tried Denise Austin's mat workout based on Pilates and it was a good starter for me. I also got the Winsor Pilates by Mari Winsor set and I love it! It's great for abs, butt and thighs plus I don't have to drive to the gym and get eyed up while I'm working out.
Eyeliner and charisma go a long way!
Oh gosh since i am not dancing now, i am doing more Pilates, actually Windsor Pilates, they hurt!
Muscles i am sure i never knew i had, damn!!!

Yea I've been meaning to go out and buy the Winsor Pilates. I love that Info-mercial! Anyways, yea pilates works wonders for the body because it elongates your muscles. U ever wonder why a ballerina was so trim and lean, that's because she uses muscles we dont' normally use on a regular basis.
Some Douchebag: "[Pimp C] 12:43 am: its true we got to stick together the black people on SW CK you is teh condoleeza of SW"

My GF has the Winsor Pilates as well. She loves it.
I think it's way better than Yoga. I'm not sure how anybody can do Yoga. It gets so boring. I felt like I was just standing around.
I would suggest Winsor Pilates.. I love it
I like Windsor Pilates. However, after doing it several times, you no longer need the detailed instruction prior to each move. I've since moved onto Classical Pilates. It runs you through the moves with smooth transitions and only provides the instructions/cuing after you begin the movement. But if you're not very familiar with pilates, definitely stick with Windsor or something along those lines.
I did Pilates after my first child, and actually got amazing 6-pack abs. Then I got preggers with #2, and lets just say I need to increase my pilates practice now! ;-)
