I wouldn't call myself a goth, but am involved in an alt lifestyle and have a bit of the alternative look... i keep my hair black with coloured bits underneath, but then i can get away with it since i'm half asian anyway so i look like i should have black hair. Can't wear fishnets, not so good for pole... i have to admit i can't say i wouldn't conform to the barbie look to get more money but then i think i might be more of a fetish-barbie type than a goth! lol

i have tons of tats and piercings. i dance in combat boots. tried the barbie thing, but my personality shined through and it was too obvious that it didnt fit me. i dance to punk and industrial all the time. i know i look dumb dancing to rap and britney spears. it doesnt work. my bod mods and fire tricks are how i make my cash- i made far less when i just blended in with everyone else. the girls at my work say i make my $ because i simply just dont give a s*** about what anyone thinks. this gives customers the impression that i'm a more open-minded and realistic person. customers normally dont talk to someone like me- this gives them a little window into that world. contrary to what some are saying, there are wealthy guys who go for my look. either they're kinky fetishists, old-school-punks-turned-businessman or just simply curious.

the weird thing: when i started at my club, my coworkers said my money wouldnt be good cause of my look. now, they're starting to get piercings, tats, wear collars and bondage belts, dance to industrial, copy my dance moves. should i be insulted or flattered?

toxicgirl, I'd definitely be flattered. You proved to them that you can do it and you are such a strong person to be what you want to be and not care what they think and now they are trying to follow your lead. That is definitely a compliment in my book. And do they let you fire dance in the club? I have a friend who does that and she's really good but some nightclubs at least I know won't let her do it becuase of fire codes.

I think the goth style looks so hot! I love to wear fishnets, thigh high boots, and lots of black eyeliner. When it comes to my club, we are allowed to have our own style because it is small. I have alot of different styles and alot of it depends on my mood. I love to listen to music that varies from Culture club, Duran Duran, to rod zombie and Manson. I know my slight goth style is very different from what ya's are talking about with piercings, tats, and conformity to high end clubs. I just felt like posting this.. I dunno i love us strippers we are so expressive in creative ways.

too each there own, everyone has diffrent taste, i have tons of tats and a few percings, it drives some men and women nuts(in a good way) , but then again some didn't find it all appealing, which never bothers me none, in HS i was a pretty big gutter punk and even had my head shaved, i've calimed down alot since then but i'll never lose the punker that lives in me and the sexiest thing a person can have in my book is being there self and not worrying about whatevery one else has to say about the way they look, no matter what style they have.....but i do understand about what you girls are sayin about "style" in your clubs, and then again too each there own....you are all beautiful one way or another and i wish you all luck in whatever you do..xoxoxoxoxox "D"

Traditional punker here, but I think I look pretty normal thesedays especially since so much of what used to be punk rock is now fashion )-:
I have blonde dreadlocks almost to my ankles and a couple of peircings. I wear old boots at work and literally just a piece of rag over my bikini but probably class as a Barbie / freak hybrid. Earnings vary from very good to extreemly fucking bad.

Smaller clubs are alot better for the opprotunity to be yourself. It's not high-end cookie cutter. I suppose I'm lucky in the fact that our clubs tend to attract younger "alternative" crowds. But the whole 'Avril Lavign is punk' stuff makes me want to puke more than those hot pink ,oval bumper stickers that say things like Hottie and Sexy. Bleh! Gag me with a frigging spoon. As far as music most of the songs on AEnema from Tool make for some killer stage dances.

But then again... the same can be said about the school girl look, as well as the J-Lo/Ms Spears look thats all over the stage anymore. Depends on the customer's family members I guess. Hell, you could get old enough customers in who would be reminded of young(er) relatives (ie: grandkids, nieces, etc...) by an 80's look, LOL.

They're tank falls by this super Goddess of hair. They go right on over a ponytail or pigtails.

And you sound different! And different is GOOD

I went over my hair once again, and wore black tonite, and a guy told me i looked Goth. I don't see that as bad at all. I just had black on and very very dark hair right now. It actually felt cool, as for the first time in my life i am a Swedish Goth..

I just have to wear lighter to brown clothes at this point i have learned.
But again i don't care what people think i am. I am LOVING my hair now!!!!

I am the girl that plays the loud angry music that all the other girls hate. Skinny Puppy, Ministry, KMFDM, etc...so I guess that'd make me a subgenre of goth/punk. I play 80's goth too, like the cure, the church, depeche mode, etc. I get a lot of props from guys b/c all the other girls (cept one or two) play rap (like Jay Z and tupac and stuff) or britney spears, so I am like a breath of fresh air sometimes. I figure I could dance to some pop music and I'd look like I was @ work, or I can play music I personally like and smile and sing and all that jazz, so I look like I am having a good time...all animated and what not. I make more money like that then when I am tired and my nusic doesn't play (we have a jukebox) so I just strut around and look like a bitch...

I never change my music.. just my look. People find in you what they want to anyway. I can be blonde and tan and play Rasputina... your customers will find you.

I used to use a retainer in my septum, you can just push up into your nostrils and no one sees your piercing any longer.
