    Default Firming Creams

Anyone on here had experience using those "skin-firming" creams designed to minimize cellulite's appearance? I've started using Jergen's Body Firming moisturizer cream and it seems to be doing alright (I know, I know, it's basically just a hyperload of vitamin K, but I figured I'd give it a shot.) I'm somewhere between a dress size 4-8 depending on who made the clothing, but I was severely overweight when I was younger and definitely have the battle scars: stretch marks, bones that grew to support someone a lot heavier (which gives me the almighty ghetto booty that I have today), and last but not least....cellulite at 18. Woo-friggin'-hoo. Has anyone else found that the creams help?

I heard that ROC has a good one that really works, but I wasn't able to find it. I use a firming creme (can't remember the brand) every night before work. I apply it right after my shower. It almost feels like glue going on, but once it's dry, it's totally weightless. I see a difference right after I apply it, it's a smoother look. I think it's a very temporary fix, but I'll try anything in the name of self-improvement. I've started back to the gym (had a baby 2 years ago) and have seen MUCH improvement. It's the only sure-fire way to reduce cellulite for me, can't seem to find the will-power to change my diet!

Yes i have tried firming creams. But not for my legs, my face. These products are short lasting, but work, because they tighten with many or a few depending whats added to your skin, kinda like an egg white would. If used long enough they say they actually will stretch the skin more, but that is like everday use over say 1 year or so.
These products can only penetrate the dermis, so you are tightening the skin where you may not even see it. But kinda feel a tingle.
I have used Avons skin/ firm tightening cream untill it ran out, about 3 months. People told me i looked rested! Wow, because i don't sleep much. But as far as sagging skin the only way to rid of that is surgery.

Go ahead try one for the body, you may love the results. But a tan in the bottle will minimize your cellulite look 70% more.

Also i know skinny dancers who have cellulite! It's not a heavy persons "problem" only. Massage that area, move out the fat, thats all it is. Daily. Dry brush! And apply your cream.
Good luck. Cellulite can be beat, i had it after my child on backs of my thigs...Yuk. I did not change diet, just kept rubbing the area day and night, hard. It's fat that stuck in there, and wil break down with a combination of treatments from do ..At home.
Go to google, look up "how to get rid of cellulite".
    Lotsa luck, Pamela

Firminol-10 is very good. You could get at rite-Aid. I got it for my tummy to take the lines away. And it actually work.

Thanks for all the help, guys Thanks for the dry brush idea as well, Pamela- I'm popping over to Sally Beauty today to pick up one. While tanning does decrease cellulite, I'm a major heliophobe and work my "pale little dark haired chick" schtick as hard as I can. The cream seems to be working pretty well, but I'll give the brush a go too.

As well as dance I have sold AVON for a while now. They do have new cream coming out in a few weeks. I get to try products ahead of customers. It's called Cellu-Sculpt. I've been using it a couple weeks and it is one of the best I've used. Like most women the backs of my thighs are my biggest problem. I've been massaging it in really good everyday before work and it's been working great. And my is skin really soft too.
Look for it soon. Good luck.

i have that damn cellulite problem on my thighs too. no matter what I eat or what I do it's there. I weigh about 100 pounds and have cellulite. Does the massaging thing really help? I consulted a surgeon about having suction, but I've heard some awful horror stories about that.

hey look at that, i also sell AVON!! i've been using the cellu sculpt for a couple of weeks and i think it may actually work....i like the way it goes on, it's not sticky or heavy at all...i personally think it's a bit hard to tell since you see your body every day - to see a difference is difficult

with the AVON lotion - i was told to measure my thighs because they claim you should lose inches.....so if i think of it tomorrow i will wip out the measuring tape and let ya'll know!!

Most firming creams just tighten the skin. They wont remove the underlying fat deposits that cause the cellulite look. I would highly recommend getting a product called Yohimburn DF from anabolicfitness.com or Lipoderm by avantlabs.com. These contain yohimbine hcl which will actually allow those cells to release the fat they are holding.

Know what? Alot of those cellulite reducing products main ingredient is caffeine, I read in an interview with Niomi Campbell that she uses her used coffee grounds from her morning java in the shower and exfoliates her but and thighs with the grounds! You can also spread them on the trouble areas and saran wrap for a time for a better result, but the shower thing is on a daily basis therefore cumulative.

Now remembering none of these products can actually get rid of cellulite, but do help minimize its appearance.

    Dry brushing works too.

A more effective solution is ENDERMOLOGIE. You wear a body stocking at the clinic and the technician rolls a vacuum like device over your problem areas. It works. Less clinics are offering it now. I asked my doctor why and he said the technicians don't like using it. It is strenous for them. I wanted to save money and tried buying on of those "at home" machines form some home shopping club about a year ago but it was a stuggle using it on myself. It takes muscle! I also have found it hard to get in the routine of dry brushing myself with upward strokes like so many people have suggested so I have found this to be the longest lasting solution. http://www.celluliteusa.com/endermologieresults.htm

Speaking of cellulite, check out the current National Enquirer. Pics of Naomi, J.Lo, Playboy girls, Carmeon Diaz, Nicole Kidman, Christina Aguilera, etc caught candidly with cellulite. Very bad picture of Demi there too. It is something lots of us have problems with

I am starting to notice my upper thighs developing a few bumps. The men don't notice but I wanted to do something about it before it worsens into a big problem!

Aarrgg! I tried to order the Avon cream and can't get it shipped to me! Can either of you ladies who sell Avon sell me some and ship it? I live in Puerto Rico, and when I tried to order from the site, it said they only ship to the 50 states. How obnoxious!!!

You know, Bridgette, there are Avon ladies in Puerto Rico. Go search for one and you'll have your cream.

Well I made that post immediately after trying to place an order on the Avon website. I hadn't been able to run out searching for Avon ladies here yet. Also, where does one look for Avon ladies? Guess I could just hit the pavement, but that would be a little ridiculous huh

If you know where to find Avon ladies in PR, I'd really appreciate any leads.

Btw, I've seen a couple posts from you lately. Why don't you register and join us?

I know Avon only ships to 50 states but I'm sure you can find a seller on Ebay who will ship it to you. I think its cheaper on Ebay too.

Deja Voodoo, that's what I thought. You're giving yourself away dear - not exactly hard to figure out who you are....

Angelina, thanks for the Ebay tip! I use Ebay all the time to find things, just hadn't thought about getting Avon there! I'll go check!
