    Default In between WAXING

    Hey all...
I've been getting waxed to remove the hair "down there" <grin> and was wondering what you girls do in between the time it takes to grow the hair long enough to get it waxed again? I work at both a topless and a nude club.. so of course, this only applies to the nude club..

I never found a solution to this problem so I went for laser hair removal. I have been very happy with the results. It saves a lot of hassle. The procedure hurt, especially in the more sensitive areas but I kept the pain at bay using EMLA, a numbing cream you can buy from the counter at the pharmacy. It still hurt but not as much. The numbing cream works for plucking eyebrows or other things like that too if you have a low pain threshold. I got my underarms and bikini area done. No regrets.

    hi agelina~
i have always wanted to get the laser thing done and was wondering, did any of your hair grow back? I heard that you have to get lasered a few times and some of the hair still grows back, just not as thick. I wouldn't mind spending the money for it as long as it truly is permanent. Also, how long does it take. Because I would just be the happiest girl in the world if I never had to shave again!! [clap]

You can get EMLA creme from bmeshop.com too. Lots of piercers use it on people afraid of needles. I wonder how many hours it would take and how much it would cost to remove all hair on my body excluding my head hair and eyebrows, and a little bit down there? It would probably take a long time and cost tons too. But I bet it would be worth it.

    Theresa,
The key is waiting for a long enough period between treatments. If you laser the area too soon again, it won't be as effective because hair grows in different cycles. The coarser and darker your hair is, the more treatments you have to endure. The average is 5-6 treatments. Yes, the hair that grows back will be thinner with each treatment but only very few hairs will grow back after the 5th or 6th treatment. I have done 4 treatments and if you don't look closely, it would look like I were completely bare. Stray hairs will grow back, but it is very few. That is why the more ethical clinics in my area will emphasize that hair is "permanantly reduced" not removed. I am very happy with my results as there are no stubbles and because the hair follicles has shrunk so much, the skin down looks a lot more like the skin on my tummy. I have darker hair so my skin tone there looks lighter too. :-)
JLM, the underarms and bikini area takes no more than 20mins for a treatment. Thanks for the link. I pay 250 for both areas at a time. I think but I have seen clinics offer 50% off for your first treatment. In my city, its pretty competitive so there are always specials or packages available as a deal.

Right now I wait only three to four weeks in between waxing. I do work at a topless club, but I also happen to be lucky that the hair on my body blends although the hair there is a bit darker. It really is not very noticeable. After about two weeks hair begins to break the skin and by end of week three of four its still short but just long enough to grab. My waxer is great.
I think that right now it is every 3 to 4 weeks b/c I stopped waxing for awhile during recovery from the car wreck so my body has to get used to it again. By the end of May though, I'll be back to only waxing once every six weeks. Your hair grows in thinner over time and tends to lighten slightly in color as well. Hope it helps.

Is there anything you can pay to get done that completely removes the hair FOREVER? I know this would probably be expensive but I think it's well worth it if I never have to shave again. I read somewhere that people of Italian, Welsh, etc. origin have more hair and coarser hair than those of Scandinavian descent (i.e. fair skin, blue eyes, blonde hair). I guess I got the bad genes because not only am I part Welsh, but also part Cherokee and plenty of other nationalities I am guessing. So as much as I would love to have barely noticeable hair all over my body, it just isn't happening. I'd like to get all the fine hairs all over my stomach, chest, back, "down there", legs, arms, and everywhere possible removed permanently. Not just to give a boost to my future entertainment career, but for it to be less annoying.

Is anyone here from Memphis who can suggest any good places that can permanently remove hair?
