Saw an informercial for Bareminerals makeup and wondering if anyone has tried it before I buy. It seems like a good idea instead of foundation which tends to come off and I don't really like the normal stay-on foundations because they are so drying.

Yes!! It's awesome!![]()
interesting...

please post on your findings

It's all natural so it doesn't clog your pores. Doesn't brake you out. Gives you a flawless natural look, kinda dewy like Christina Aguilera in her "you are beautiful" video. I read somewhere that Mandy Moore uses this. Their web site is proactive.com. I highly recommend this product and I like Proactive as well. I ordered the Alexis Vogel kit, its on back order 4-5 weeks they said, any ways I'll let yall know how it goes.![]()

I love Bare Escentuals (Bare Minerals is just one part of their line). It's the greatest foundation, but I also use their blush and eye shadows. I bought the kit they have advertised on TV. It's a great deal as far as their retail prices go.
I've been using it for a couple of years now. There are whole websites like this one devoted to that brand of makeup.

They sell a similar product here (http://www.makeupartistschoice.com/youngblood.htm)that I have received samples of and loved. I think it is $5 for the sampler kit. I've been using this site for all sorts of things for 3 years now.

bringing this back because i was wondering about this makeup...i need pretty heavy coverage as i have a lot of acne scars and uneven skin tone (lots of redness and some small bumpy zits)...does the powder foundation from bare minerals cover just as well as a liquid foundation? i've heard so many good things about this brand but i usually use powder AND liquid...thanks!
i just got it in feb and i love it. I will continue to use it. If you follow the instructions on how to use it, it works great! the only prob io have with it is that i have to reapply after about 4-5 hours of working. other than that it is great!

I use it with a separate camoflauge (green) concealer on the really red spots, then all over with my 1.2 and kabuki brush, the with bisque as a concealer using the concealer brush, and then warmth and glee.....looks pretty natural. Sometimes I need to touch up and I use a cream concealer.
Careful about buying it on EBAY. I've noticed that the majority of the listings have a small print that states its SAMPLE SIZE (so like just a little bit to try it out). Just make sure you're getting the whole thing.
I liked Bare Minerals...but I can't wear it. After trying goobs of foundation for light, but natural coverage, I tried Bare Minerals. It was fine the first day, but after that it would make my skin itch and rash after about 3 hours. I tried it on the third day and almost immediately (like after 30-40 minutes) my skin was itching and when I took it off, I had little red spots.
I've heard rave reviews on it...but it's definitely not for every skin type. Of course, this is coming from someone who breaks out no matter what foundation type/company is used.
and another note about buyuing samples off ebay....you never know if they are the real deal or cut with baby powder or some other cheap substance.
You're allergic to one of the ingredients: Bismuth Oxychloride. sells mineral makeup without that ingredient.Originally Posted by VenusGoddess
I like Bare Minerals. It gives the best coverage and doesn't makeup me break out if I forget to take it off. I've found that I get the best results when I apply the Mineral Veil first to the tzone area and then put on the foundation. Then I go over the little spots with Bisque and a concealer brush.
If your skin is very dry and flaky Bare Minerals will make it obvious. So make sure your skin is properly moisturized and exfoliated.
One last thing: Bare Minerals doesn't have the best range of shades for women of color. Other mineral makeup companies may have better options:
I love it, if i were you i would start with one of the kits from sephora... they are really nice and give you a good sense of the line without a huge investment.

Hmmm thanks, I will have to try it sometime I guess!
Well, I seem to have this problem with EVERY foundation. Even the super high-end, $55 a bottle foundation. I can wear a new foundation for a day or two, but each time I wear it, I start breaking out sooner and sooner until it becomes almost immediate (say 20-30 minutes after applying).Originally Posted by smartcookie
But, I'll look into the site you posted. Maybe it'll be different.
Thank you!
i LOVE Bareminerals...i was hesitant to try it at frist because i've always like liquid better then powder and their whole line is powders. but i had really bad acne and my dr reccomended i swtiched, so i did. my face has completely cleared up (though i guess that could be the medicine)
it looks really natural and the bronzer is the best i've ever used, i think its called "Warmth"
i got the whole kit from Ulta for $60. not bad for foundation, coverup, powder and brushes. yay bareminerals!

the company i get mine through doesn't use the bismouth either...AND they are CHEAP! http://www.smokymountainminerals.com
i love it! it's a small operation, so i just ask the owner if i have questions. and everytime i order anything, i get a few free samples of other stuff..mainly bright eye shadows. they have some great shadow colors!

i LOVE bare minerals... however... when I have my monthly week long breakout, dream matte mousse by maybelline is alot better for me.
I like it... the only thing I don't like about it is that since everything is a loose poweder it can be messy... and i just hate picking up after myself!
I bought the kit from Sephora. It's good as far as your skin not looking oil, but my skin sometimes breaks out or i have a little redness and it works horrible for either of these. Right now i am using Maybelline Pure Makeup as my foundation, and then putting the Bare Minerals, and Minerval Veil over the foundation and it gives it a nice finish. I'd say if your skin is already nice then its great. If not you will probably need a little more coverage, definetly a separate concealer. .....And everyone tells me my skin is gorgeous to begin with, so its not like i have bad acne or anything.
