This may have to do with my particular body specifics, but I have noticed a dramatic differance in the appearance of cellulite when I cut down on caffeine and alcohol and up my water intake. At the same time, I also use a body brush on the problem areas.

It is a healthy route so it can't hurt to try it. It made such a dramatic differance that I had our normally super critical house mom commenting on it.

BTW, in the interest of every little bit of info helping, on top of the above, I am a vegetarian who rarely drinks soda or imbibes other refined sugars... usually

Very true cellulite is only fat that gets trapped there. It holds toxins. Body brushing is great, as it gets circulation moving in that area, thats what you want. And Massage the are as well. Lots of water to help move out toxins you have unleashed! And it does not hurt to incorporate some type of weight training to build a little muscle. Muscle burnes calories! Also a tan in the bottle can help hide any cellulite in the mean time.

You take one of those brushes with the soft, natural bristles- they often have a wooden backing, y'know? And you brush your body- especially problem areas with poor circulation- with light, quick strokes towards the heart. It helps with circulation, stimulates lymph nodes, and exfoliates to improve skin softness and texture. Yay!

Once u have it the best thing to do is work out and firm up the area that it is in. Lets say u got the cheese thing going on under the butt, rear upper thigh area. Weight training in this area will reduce the amount of visible fat, increase the amt of muscle, and decrease the amount of cellulite that you can see b/c the muscles in the area will be defined. U can never really get rid of it, other than surgery, but exercise helps b/c if u firm it up u can not see it very much or even at all.

Divyne, what kind of weight training is best for this area? Do you mean exercises when you bear your own body weight like squats, free weights, or machines like the Nautilus system? I agree it makes a huge difference.

I did not know about the body brushing. That is really awesome. I will have to begin soon. What I was going to suggest was use a little bit of sunless tanning loti0on and then use plamers cocoa butter or other lotions that are like that one. Thanks fro the tips.

I, too, am working on getting rid of some of those pesky bumps. Work out, work out, work out....seems the only thing that really works for me anyway. If you only diet you will just end up with sagging skin. I need to really go for the burn with weights to see real improvement.

By the way some of the best at home workout tapes are produced by The Firm. You can find them at Collage Video on the internet.

Silly ques. but had to ask-

How about those lotions? I think I remember Christian Dior had something that reduced the bumpy appearance. Don't get me wrong, the exercise is a must, but for an audition I was wondering if there was anything out that could offer the appearance of smoother skin.

I'm looking to audition next Tuesday...help!, TY-

For cellulite you should grink a gallon of water a day. Stay away from starchy carbs: white rice, potatoes, pasta, flour, sugar, alcohol. You could try taking 2.5mg of yohimbine HCl 4 times a day (they come as 2.5 mg capsules). You must use yohimbine, not yohimbe. Yohimbine is a beta agonist that acts on areas with high concentrations of alpha 2 adrenoceptors. In women that is your tummy, butt and thighs. Do not take this with ephedra, ma-haung, any monoamine oxidase inhibitors, cocaine, ecstacy etc. You can also get yohimbine in a rub on gel that is effective. Look up Lipoderm at www.avantlabs.com or yohimburn a www.anabolicfitness.com

You should have endermologie treatments. It works very well if it is done by a skilled technician. I am an endermologie technician based in los angeles (west hollywood) and I worked on playboy playmates, strippers, dancers, etc... I always had excellent results. You have to know that even if you exercise like a beast, you wont get rid of cellulite because it is kind of sickness of your fat cells. If you want more details and explainations, please contact me at [email protected], I will be glad to help you.
    Best regards,
    Diane.

Endermologie is the way to go. It's expensive, but the few people I've met who've done it were thrilled.
Exercise will help you slim down and be more toned, but it does very little to reduce cellulite. And sorry Pam, while toxins are stored in fat, they aren't a cause. It's genetic.
Drinking lots of water and increasing circulation (like with body brushing) have lots of benefits, but Endermologie is the only FDA-proven method to really get rid of cellulite.
There are a few experimental treatments being done with lasers and such now, but no conclusive results yet.

Sorry but endermolgie does not work.I have a very little bit of celluite on the back of my legs,I had 2 treatments a week for like 3 months,it actually made me look worse.I also spoke with a women wo worked for a plastic surgeon for 20 years and she said it can actually destroy the bands in the skin that keep the skin firm and did not recommed it and they offered it were she was.Waste of money.

Sorry Endermologie didn't work for you Michele. I've met 3 people who were happy with their results, but I guess it's one of those things that's not guaranteed to work on all people.

AVON has a wonderful product called CelluSculpt that works! You have to be consistant with its use for it to work and it doesn't get rid of it completely but it does minimize the cellulite and smooth the skin. It is only $15 a tube and you can buy it at AVON.com.
    Great product! Good Luck.
