Default The girls I work with think my hair..

is nice, it is semi long and blonde, with a bit of wave...But I never style it, and they think I ought to curl it or something..What on earth can I do that is not overly complicated or requires a host of supplies?

First if you like your hair, why would you change it because others want you to? I always say go with the natural wave, curl straightness of your hair, and play with it different ways.
But if you want, heat is a quick way to add more "curl", or straightness. But i would not do this practice often, heat is very damaging to hair.

You can try the long wrap arond hair ties. (they look like long snakes).
Leave them in over night and un-roll them before work with a light set of hair spray to hold the set you get.

Or at times, i put 6 wet braids in my hair, 3 on each side, after my shower and sleep in them. WOW! The next morning i take them out my hair looks like a long fro!!! So i tame it to the level i want with my wet hair brush. It ends up looking like a buch of long ringlets. A nice change of pace now and again.
    Good luck, Pamela

yup braids Pam they are great, and lightly condition the ends when you finish too! When you pull it out its so soft and wavy SO PRETTY!
Ya gotta admit no sense dressing the body wearing the heels putting on the make up earrings etc and then leaving your hair like you do all day...u end up lookin unfinished or sloppy.
Even if you pull it back into a pony use a rhinestone pony clip or decorative big barette...neatly separate tendrils sparingly add a gel to it and curl into a relaxed ringlet, do several of these stands around your face and wear evening jewelry. This look is easy and pretty and low maintenance. When your hair is up chokers look GREAT too.
Have fun doing it - I LOVE the process of getting ready for work - I like the transformation...sort of the dressing of the bride if you will - it has become ritualistic to me. And while I prepare I can feel Leigh Landon emerging...its too cool.
    Enjoy it!

Never explain yourself to anyone, because the person who likes you doesn't need it and the person that dislikes you won't believe it.

Talk to your regular hairdresser, or a good friend who is hairstyle-savvy, and ask them for advice and demonstrations.

Another option is to find the girl at work who is best at doing hair, and pop a few bucks her way in exchange for her doing your 'do. I've done that pretty often, since I'm pretty much clueless at fixing my hair up.

French braid it and go with a dominatrix or cheerleader theme.

Heidi-braid it and go with a Swiss Miss or schoolgirl outfit.

Ponytail it and do a saddle-shoes and poodle-skirt Swing set.

My last piece of advice is to not waste your money on those stupid hairstyle magazines (Soap Opera Hairstyles! Short Hair! Braids! Assymetrical Blue Hair Cuts!) at the grocery store and Walmart. First off, they never give truly good instructions that allow for the lay-woman to successfully style her hair the same. Secondly, most of those are hair models who have spent quite a bit of time in a stylists chair before being photographed. Lastly, you usually will have to search to find a style that complements not only your hair length, but also your hair shape, hair texture, facial shape, and facial features.
