    Default Lubricants

Since my comment to cheer a buddy up kind of turned into a lubricant advice column instead I decided to just move the topic. I personally hate KYjelly. I started with KY liquid, then they made KY silk e. KY silk E is really great, but last month they introduced KY ultragel and it is even better.
I've tried Wet, Astroglide and a few others and this is really just my personal favorite. As for smurfalicious' comment about the gyno using the jelly, call me a weirdo but I just always take my bottle of silk e and tell her to use that instead. She says, "Really I would only expect something like this from u so I'm really not surprised." If u don't like it, tell your doctor or bring your own.

KY Jelly causes yeast infections for me. I didn't realize it until after the second time I used it. After the first, I just thought it was a coincidence. Needless to say, stopped using that quickly thereafter. I used Wet for awhile, then moved to Astroglide...which seems like my favorite. But right now, at my job, I get free mini packets of Wet lube, so it seems like I'll be going back.

Actually, recently, I have stopped using lube at all (except for any kind of anal play...need the lube for that!!!! ) I want to depend more on my body's natural lubrication. I was getting lazy, and just going straight for the lube without even attempting to get myself wet naturally. There's nothing quite like the natural thing!!!!

Douching definitely cuts down on wetness. If you're overly wet, you might want to try it.

My personal fav for lube is ID Lube's Millenium. Never sticky, soft and silky. Hell, you can even use it to sooth after you shave your bikini area!!

About the douching thing that was mentioned earlier: some people do it because they are taught to do so by their mom or sister or whoever, but every doctor I have ever talked to said not to because it interferes with your body's natural bacterial balance. They said that a douche did not actually cleanse because women aren't dirty and that it was more a societal thing to convince women they were unclean or not fresh to get them to buy a product.
Douches do flush out whatever vaginal fluid or discharge may be in the vaginal canal but it also pushes part of the fluid and discharge even further up the canal and into the cervix. So, if it was dirty u just pushed the "dirt" even further up. Its a personal preference thing, but they have been linked to increased occurence of PID, bladder infections, and bacterial vaginosis.

You've got to try Eros for Women - when I use lube, it's really an excellent product. Only problem is that it's silicone-based - so if you're allergic to silicone, it's a no-go. I've tried them all (almost - i mean there are SO many lubes out there), and this one by far is the best. The greatest thing about it is that it stays moist for a long time - so you don't need to re-apply often at all.

Divyne - You are so right about the douching thing, as well - I've stopped doing it and no longer get yeast infections.

Yes our bodies naturally cleanse themselves down below. So no need to douche, unless for a medical reason.
And i know of women who have douched before a Pap smear. Wrong. I don't do it. Good old soapy baths help me. Of course hypo allergenic products when soaking. Or a spray of warm water while showering.

I've tried the KY liquid. The Astroglide. The Wet. The Eros. The Climax. The ID. The new JO Lube. And about a dozen other less memorable brands.

At this point, my all time favorite is ID Millenium (although I dislike the other ID products). My honey turned me on to it. I like it so much that I have even found about a dozen uses for it other than sex. It doesn't dry out, it stays smooth and light, it has no odor, it has no real discernible taste if it gets in your mouth, works well with condoms and toys, is easily washed off... The only downsides I have experienced are the need to wash it off before running around the house barefoot (or you could get that freshly-waxed-floor effect), and my current physician says that VERY excessive use of it during sex produces a slightly greater risk of yeast / bacterial infections than water-based lubricant like KY. (ID Millenium is silicon based).

As for douching, it is not a good idea to do so unless instructed to by a doctor. It removes the normal, helpful bacteria in your vagina, along with the harmful stuff, thereby making you more prone to infections (nothing to fight it off). It destroys your natural ph, even when using a vinegar solution, thereby making you more susceptible to infections and pregnancy. It can cause damage to the tissue-cells due to the fact that you are forcing water inside yourself at a relatively high pressure (which can also force harmful bacteria into undesirable places). It increases your risk of acquiring strains of HPV, and also increases your risk of cervical cancer. Such being the case, I find it more advisable to just go with a good antibacterial feminine wash for that area... As for controlling wetness, well, there is not a whole lot you can do when it comes down to getting your freak on, other than maybe keeping a handy towel or washcloth nearby to dry things off.... Just enjoy it - at 50 or 60 years old, most women wish they still had that "problem"... come to think of it, their husbands probably wish the same thing...

Just watch the silicone based lubes with your toys. All my "finer" things in life are hand molded silicone and don't play well with silicone lubes. However, if you use condoms on your toys, which makes clean up and sharing easier, you can use all the lube you want.

Unfortunately my silicone lube leaked on my Tri-Tone Balls and now they're all deformed. *sniffle*

I can't imagine not douching. If your man ejaculates in you, it really starts getting REALLY funky the next day. I've been douching regularly for years and had no problems with PID or yeast infections (except when I have been on antibiotics for an upper respitory infection). I'm sorry, but I can not handle "women's natural smell." When I have done double-trouble at work, I've noticed some HORRIBLE scents emanating from down below on many other girls. If these girls couldn't benefit from a douche, I don't know what else could help them.

Actual bathing and good hygiene would help a lot. Like I said, many people are taught to do so when they learn how to handle the whole period thing and it becomes a habit. Your natural smell is not bad, and evryone pretty much knows their own smell. Its interesting, but I can tell different things about myself based on how I smell like when my period should be starting(b/c I don't have them), and when I begin to ovulate. Its weird. If u haven't experienced these things u are lucky and thats good b/c u've found what works for you. As far as ejaculation, I can't keep laying in the bed after all of that simply because it leaves wet spots and u get sticky. We always both washup. I bring him a warm soapy damp towel, and I always go into the bathroom and pee and then washup. In the process the majority of the seminal fluid runs right out while I pee. Whats left comes out while I wash up with warm soap and water. It can be annoying for some of those multiple sex sessions though. I know a little too detailed, but washing up right after sex is a habit for me.
As for double trouble: I personally don't go there, but have noticed that what you said is true. Some of my coworkers are just plain funky. I remember more than a few times two girls getting on stage and being able to smell them as they sampled one another even when I was sitting two tables back from the stage and thats gross.
A douche is not gonna help these girls. Ladies that have an especially offensive odor have it b/c of improper hygiene or a medical condition that they may not be aware of like vaginosis or trichomoniasis which is really common. If one has an offensive odor and douches, one just pushes most of the fluid out but one pushes a lot of it up. The problem is not the fluid and discharge hanging out in your vaginal canal and catching oxygen that cause a smell, vaginal discharge is not like menstrual blood that does take on a scent when it is oxidized. The problem is that the fluid and discharge itself smell and no amount of douching can fix it b/c when u flush it out a few minutes or few hours later discharge and fluid will come down from the cervix into the vaginal canal again so its a neverending cycle if u smell bad.
LOL: Now we need a douching thread, maybe one of the moderators will move all this stuff about douching onto its own thread. Its a good topic.

It may mean something different in places other than where I've personally worked... In many places where I have worked, the term equivalates to a girl-girl set offering the implication or illusion of lesbian activity. Something that seems to drive the average Joe Sixpack absolutely nuts.

However, as I said, it could mean something else in other places.

I don't use any lubes - don't need them. But sometimes I get soooo wet it's like Niagra Falls! I notice I get wetter in the middle of my monthly cycle, and I also make more money then! Gotta be that smell - like the song says, 'Can't you smell that smell'... LOL I even had a guy last month tell me that the only reason he went to VIP with me was because I smelled so sweet :o That hormone thing I reckon.

Double trouble at my club is when there are two girls on stage at once. After ANY clothing is removed, we are prohibited from touching each other, as that is considered a "live sex show" and is illegal. Often times, I can smell the other dancer's funk, just being on the same stage together.

This has been an educational thread. I could have read a different thread, but nooo....I read this one, didn't I? I just had to click on it and keep reading. I think it's going to take a while to process it all.

So one quick question: I've heard of ben-wa balls, and I've heard of blue-balls, but what the heck are "Tri-Tone Balls"? It sounds like something a guy gets after one too many lap dances...

Personally, I've never douched...and I find the idea of doing it kina offensive. I'm in no way judging others who do it, and this is a personal decision. But I don't like the idea that I am inherently dirty and in need of eradicating what makes me a woman. We are taught to be embarrassed, disgusted, ignorant, and ashamed of our vaginas. Most women do not know what they look like, and if they do, a lot of them wished they never knew. There is the horrible and debilitating misconception that prominent (meaning visible without spreading the outer lips open) inner lips/labia are abnormal or indicative of a "loose" woman. In fact, the majority of women have visible inner lips.

Personally, I find pussies incredibly hot and such a turn-on. Hell, if I could bottle and sell the scent of pussy, I would do so (and my boyfriend would be the first in line to buy it!!!).

Shame and uncomfort with one's vagina, in my opinion, result a lot of times to shame and uncomfort with one's sexuality. If you think your pussy is ugly, then there is a high liklihood that you don't feel comfortable exploring, don't know where your clit is, and feel more comfortable having a guy insert his fingers than your own.

Again, this may not be true for all women. But I find it so important that we as women feel empowered and proud of our bodies because there are too many messages out there that attempt to keep us ashamed.

Girls do not douche! It is not healthy for the body and it just pushes bacteria further up the vaginal wall. Causes infections like yeast and others. If you do use it be careful.
And on the lubricant side of the topic I like trojan gel. It is water based so it is not icky sticky.
