    Default First Tattoo

I have finally come to a decision about my first tattoo. I currently have no tattoo nor anything else except a slight birth mark on my butt.... this gal is clean.

My tattoo will be of a curled-up sleeping Garfield. I chose Garfield for many reasons .. two being that I love cats (I love all animals except cats are my first preference) and I also love Garfield (been a follower for many many many years).

??? ??? I'm just wondering where you would recommend me to put my sleeping cat? ??? ???

    Thanks again

IF YOU CHOOSE "OTHER" please post a reply stating where you would choose to have such a tattoo.

It wouldn't let me vote, but I say ankle. Garfield would be very happy curled up there.

Hmmm...I just got my first (and only) tattoo in December so I know the problem of picking a place to put it. I think the inside of the ankle is a good place to put it. It's less conspicuous.

I agree with Pamela. As a matter of fact, I am planning on getting a tattoo right above there.

I've decided that I will put the "kitty" close to home. It is a unique spot and I shave/wax often enough for it not to look to gross. I guess that I could easily go up to people and say.. "Do you want to see my pussy" and I'm not being crude.. I'm referring to my tattoo!
    LOL

Or I could even say... I need someone to pat my pussy in reference to the tattoo.

I'm going to go with a fake one at first to see how well it looks and how it goes. I don't want to get a real one to only realise later on down the track I didn't want it there.... better to be safe than sorry in re: first tattoo.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I've kept them in mind for any other tattoos I might get... or I might just stick with one.

I like being a "clean" girl as alot of customers tend to expect every stripper/dancer to have one tattoo on her somewhere... however I've always wanted one.

    :-) Thanks again

I agree that near your kitty would be good place for garfield. Good luck!

Now for my own ideas. I don't have any tattoos or body pierces, and it seems to be a customer draw for me, but I've often toyed with the idea of getting a cat in the bikini area. This just makes me think about it a little harder. I wouldn't get any specific characters, just a nice cat. What do you all think?

    Bridgette-
I think it could be cute, but think about it REALLY hard before you do it. I have three very small, very discreet tattoos and I HATE THEM! I wanted each of them very much at the time, but SO wish I didn't have them now. Of course, there are people who get tattoos and love them their entire lives, but there are many more who are like me and wish that they didn't get them in the first place. Expensive and painful laser treatments are to be my punishment now! ???

Just for informational purposes.... I got my tattoo down there. It HURT. Basically just be prepared for some pain. The artist told me the pain is just because of the placement. There are so many nerve endings down t here it gives like shooting pains! But it was worth it. I'd do it again.

okay so when we say "down there" are we referring to the area way down there that requires shaving? Or just above that? Cuz if u decided to grow the hair back in, it could cover the tattoo correct? ... btw, i think a cat down there is an awesome idea. Just like the one on the left...

If I let the hair grow back in, mine would definately be covered.

Well the tattoo I've considered would be placed where my thong would cover it, so those customers who prefer the 'clean' look wouldn't be lost. But I'd have it just high enough that if I wanted to pull the thong slightly the kitty tat would peek out - a little tease during dances. I'd have fun with that, and I think the guys would too Hehehe, I can just see it now - 'Wanna see my kitty tat?'

If you're comfortable enough to answer (I know this can be an exceptionally personal subject) - why do you hate them? Did you consider getting them for a long time, design them yourself etc?

I too regret one of my tattoos...only have two. The first one I placed lower back, I like it very much and in the "high" of getting that one it was only a couple weeks before I went and got another --a butterfly right above my belly button, I HATE it. Its permanent, I hate that...and just a couple months ago I was told that a butterfly tattoo in asian countries identifies you as a prostitute! I was mortified!!!! live n learn I suppose...did I mention that I hate that tattoo?

My first tattoo was on my ring finger. It was the letter "T" for my ex-husband Travis. We got each other's initials in place of wedding rings. A few years later when we parted company, I covered that tattoo with the Chinese character for strength. It was very appropriate at the time, but I now HATE the look of a tattoo on my finger. No offense to anyone who might have one, but I think it looks so white trash. It is, however, easily covered by a ring.
My next tattoo was a tiny star that I got on my inner ankle. I don't want to go into exactly why I got it, but it does have a lot of meaning. I symbolizes a great loss I experienced, the most painful thing to ever happen in my life.
My third tattoo came after that and I know this story is going to make me sound like a weirdo. I was engaged to a man who was suffering from an even more major depression than I was. We loved each other deeply, but our lives continued to spiral further and further downwards. We were both very mentally ill at this time and eating alot of pills that we shouldn't have been. We decided to commit suicide together to end the misery we felt that life was. We also decided it would be a good idea to show the world how much we loved each other when we died by putting each other's names on our bodies. He got my name across his back from shoulder to shoulder. I actually wanted to get his name across my chest from shoulder to shoulder. The tattoo artist persuaded me to change the placement, thank God. I ended up with his name on the back of my neck, under my hair. Well, obviously our suicide attempt was botched and we both lived through what we did to ourselves. I know I should cover or remove this tattoo, but somehow I haven't been able to go through with it. I've had it now for about four years and most people never have noticed it. It is the tattoo that I dislike the most because it reminds me of such a sad time in my life and of such a sad man, a man I loved so deeply who's now gone. The emotional association makes it difficult to do anything to cover or remove it.

No where. Clean and virginal skin. Wow. Didn't realise this thread was still around! I'm very highly surprised by this thread!

I still plan to get that Garfield tattoo along with a whole slew of other tattoos:

Either the words BIBS or an outline of a cat sitting or something to memoralise Bibs.

A daffodil with 26 02 99 or 26 feb 99 on the stem on my ankle (the date when my mother passed away from cancer)

A butterfly because my name (which is my birth name not just my stage name) Vanessa means Butterfly.

The HORSE in Chinese to represent my Chinese Zodiac sign.

The SCORPIO sign to represent my star/sun sign.

A pentacle (five pointed star enclosed in a circle with single point upwards) to represent my spirituality (pagan witchcraft) ... it will have a wreath as such "growing" on the circle to represent the pagan part of my path.. the pentacle is the witch part.

An outline of Australia on my birth mark EVERYONE who sees my birth mark comments the same thing when I ask them to look at it and ask me what they see... it's freaky how it looks like a real rough 'map' of Australia (without Tasmania)... I would have tasmania added to the map outline on my birth mark. My birth mark will act as the colouring inside of the outline... and also with the words... "made in australia" within it as well

When will I start to get all these tattoos? As soon as I am done with this business. Tattoos aren't such a problem as such in Burlesque as it is in stripping. I pride myself on being virginal and not having one single tattoo since most strippers (a real great majority) have a tattoo somewhere on their body these days.
