What are your experiences or opinions on liposuction?
A lot of people think plastic surgery is superficial and wrong because it not "natural." However, the field is growing exponentially and innovations in the medical field are making it possible for plastic surgery to be a safe, easy procedure. I think that if women have reasonable expectations and they are undergoing the surgery for themselves, and not their husband, boyfriend, etc, then it can be a rewarding experience. I've never bought into the idea that there's something wrong with wanting to improve yourself, either by exercising or by getting liposuction. It's about what is going to make you happy. Let's face it--no matter how much some people run or do sit ups or diet there are just somethings that can't be improved naturally. Doctors can do such amazing work that I really think liposuction can be a positive and rewarding experience.

Liposuction can be a great way to remove stubborn deposits of fat that cannot be exercised away. However, I have seen structural changes in some liposuction patients. For example, my former best friend got her tummy and thighs lipo-ed by a reptutable doctor. After recovery, her results were a smaller gut and thighs, but instead of them being big and smooth, it now looked lumpy (sort of cellulite-y) and smaller. Although she was happy with the size, the new texture negated any good results. I would say, try as hard as you can to lose the fat, but if you truly cannot, lipo is a viable option. BTW, my friends surgery was the one where they inject a bunch of fluid before sucking out the fat. It is supposed to minimize the chance of any lumpiness, but it didn't.
"Are those real?"
"No, they're imaginary"

I've seen some damn good results with lipo in the butt and thigh area, but these were girls who also exercised alot. It seems that the absolute best thing for problem thighs is a good lipo doc and plenty of exercise. If you're really interested, talk to several doctors and see what they say. Do plenty of research to find a good doctor. Don't just choose one from the phone book or take the first one you see. Check around. Then hit the gym.

It all depends on one's situation - in my opinion. That's why I won't say it is wrong for everyone... because it isn't.
As for lipo... I would only recommend it as a last resort option and only when you are already exercising regularly.
I personally still won't have anything cosmetic done to myself... even tho' I will "play" with the idea.. I will only do that. Just not for me until I can REALLY assure my fears of it all going wrong.

I have talked with a few people at the hospital who had the operation done. All were happy. Pain, thry said you bet. But in the end they loved the results. One person had to stay a few days because infection developed. Other than that, he did great. It used to be mainly an out patient procedure at the hospital, but now they keep you 24 hours (most cases). just to keep an eye on you. They are still learning alot about the pros and cons of Lipo.

you also have to keep in mind if you go back to bad eating habits and dont exercise it will come back!
As quoted by Luckyone:
I asked directions from a genie in a bottle of jim beam and she lied to me.
Methodus saved my life!
actually the main problem with lipo is that the fat will come back...in different and unnatural places...My friend had lipo on her legs, butt and stomach...now she has to exercise v. hard or she gets fat deposits on her calves, back and arms...not pretty at all!

I'm not very postive speaking in terms of plastic surgery on any accounts. But that's not what your question asked. I have a question for you though. How much do you weigh exactly anyway? Also, how often, and for how long do you exercise? Do you have a weight training incorporated in your cardio? Do you eat right? I ask all this because if you're doing all of those things, then I really dont' think lipo is for you. Alot of people use plastic surgery as a "last resort" or "quick fix" but nothing in life is a quick fix. Everything you do in life you must work for, so I don' think exercise is any different.
