Hmmm ya know whats strange about this for me. I don't care for perfume that much, maybe if it's very faint. And for men, i like a natural smell. Not after he sweats for 10 hours and bacteria starts to make him stink. But a natural smell of a man, OH GOD!!!!
And the smell of some perfumes at times takes my breath away. I alwasy have dusted a small amount of Avons...Sweet honestythrough my hair and thats it.
Just something about natural odors that turns me on. I guess the whole Pheromones thing going on!!!! Pamela

I don't wear perfume as much as I wear body sprays at work. You can spray yourself all night and it still is not overpowering. Having said that, my favorite body sprays are from Victoria's Secret, Pear Glace and Love Spell. Guys LOVE Love Spell. I know this one guy who will not let a girl ride in his car unless she is wearing the stuff. (But if any other girl at work wore it I'd be pretty pissed b/c I want guys to think of ME when they smell it )

My regular perfumes are Lolita Lempicka, Romance:ralph lauren, sung:alfred sung, pour homme d'issey:issey miyake (the men's version) because the women's smells like sugarwater to me and stuff by paloma picasso.
At work I only wear men's colognes to avoid the whole transferry thing cuz so many customers do have 2 go home and do not wanna smell like a chick. a lot of customers recognize their fav scents as i walk by and will call me over and say hey that smells familiar whats that or i have that at home and it starts a conversation. Issey Miyake, platinum egoiste by chanel, V/S by versace and pretty much whatever smells good that i don't think ole boy will miss from his cologne collection for the nite gets worn.

From a guys point, to many girls wear to much perfume and it is overpowering. Something you don't want on you walking home.

Love Spell is wonderful. And when I do smell it on someone, it does remind me of my ATF. And I wouldn't want it any other way

In the beginning of the night I'll spray on Oxygen by Lanvin - it's a very clean scent and has good stayingpower. For "touch-ups" during the night, I like bodysprays. I've gotten great feedback whenever I wear Moonlight Path from B&Bodyworks - It's a soft and warm scent.
True- some girls spray on too much perfume! There is one girl in my club that you can still smell *strongly*, 30 seconds after she walks by! :-/

ps: I had to add a new favorite - I got D&G's Light Blue for my b'day this fall and added that to my fragrance cabinet - it's like you just stepped out of a shower

I usually wear Chopard Casmir but tonight I did an experiment and wore Donna Karen's Black Cashmere since the liquorice and clove notes seem to come out on me. What do you know? I was getting complimented all night long and asked what I was wearing. Way more so that *anything* I've worn in the past. This may be completely subjective, though, as I've smelled this on others and the patchouli note comes out (can't smell it on me... I've asked all my friends).

Another girl I work with gets a good response to Michael Kors "Michael" but I can smell it on everyone she dances for (or even who tips her on stage) from a foot away. Used sparingly, it has lovely gardenia and jasmine notes.

You know, the chemicals in your body get used to wearing the same perfume all the time, so when you put on a new perfume, the smell is much more noticeable and apparent.
Isn't it amazing how something can smell great on others and like crap on yourself - or vice versa?

A friend told me - don't know whether it's true or not, that it was found from a study that men are particularly attracted to( for women) notes of pine and lavendar -
I wear lavendar oil, but what the hell has pine notes in it??

    Lol NYC jacqueline,
i have a friend who says wear vanilla, oh i do love that smell. She swears it attracts men, i have read that as well. However she buys REAL vanilla and smears it on all her pulse points and under the hair. Now that i would have to check out myself.
And i have heard what you are saying as well. I think it has something to do with our own body odours, and sweat, can totally change a great smelling perfume. Thats why when you smell it in the sample or a tad on your wrist it smells great. But when you get it home and wear it, it smells different...kinda like crap. I read lavendar is a calming smell. Oh well to each thier own. Pamela :o

Estee Lauder's Tuscany Per Donna, with a special super-secret ingredient I mix in for oomph.

The guys love it, it's light (even when I hose it on), it smells like roses, and it masks my secret ingredient so it works like Stealth Perfume. Plus, it is the only perfume besides Obsession that I have ever found to work with my personal body chemistry, besides straight lotus and poppy essences (which can be bitches to find).

The olfactory is apparently the most powerful of our senses. Personally, I like the food scents - the fruity ones from the Body Shop (my best friend wears the mango, so to me it smells like a gentle hug) and the food ones from Demeter. In fact I think the Chocolate Chip Cookie scent from Demeter is the biggest nose magnet ever created. That and vanilla. It just DOES something to people, subliminally. And it is a very natural smell, so it doesn't get overpowering at all.

Vanilla, yes! I love Vanilla - though it's kind of cliche in our club and almost every girl wears it :-/
Otherwise, I'd wear the Body Shop's Vanilla oil. It lasts a long time and is a warm yummy scent.

And I envy you girls who can pull of the musky scents - I had a roommate in college who would wear Obsession and it smelled great on her - one time I tried it, and I had 3 friends saying, "WHAT are you wearing?....it's awful." oh well. .

I got "Strawberries & Champagne" yesterday from Victoria's Secret....mmmmm....makes me smell edible . I used to just wear perfume that my mother had lying around the house: "Poem", "Allure", "Dune", etc.....but a few years ago I bought my OWN scent, "Angel" by Thierry Mugler. I love it, but I can't figure out what it smells like...it's got a strange scent...

I find the clean scent is the way to go. I love perfumes and i spend lots of money on scents that i think smell really nice on me. However men have a way different view on what smells nice.

I shower-put on babypowder and my deodorant and along with the shampoo scent in my hair i get told i smell great.

And yes-i get told all the time that too many girls wear too much perfume and that its gross. Also-they have to leave and go back to their wives and dont want to be smelling like another woman.

"Cucumber Melon" by Bath and Body Works is a definite fav with me (and I get compliments on it all the time) Pretty much any Bath and Body works is great because it's light, can be used throughout the night and isn't over powering... sometimes I'll change up the scents because I also like "Warm Vanilla Sugar" (OMG did anyone smell the Xmas scent "Vanilla Noel"? I was tempted to eat the lotion! LOL) but usually go back to my tried and true scent after I get too many "ooh you are wearing something different" comments.. lol

Actually I found this really great body spray from the Healing Garden which is a line of products with different things used to help with well being. In Ontario, Canada we can get it at a Shoppers Drug Mart or Wal Mart.
It's not to overpowring but it actually lingures a long time.
