    Default Blackheads............ugh

When i used to wear this particular kinda sports bra I got blackheads underneath my breasts in the folds. Well, switched to a breathable mesh type bra and used the neutrogena scrubby stuff and evrything was fine.
Well, i'm not working out or working at the time and they r back. I tried a couple different scrubs, cleansers, etc no results. Basically these pores are just clogged as hell, dirt and some are just hair bumps but now they are underneath, above and inbetween. Its not really noticeable to anyone but me, but its irkin me like hell. Plus, even though i know better, i picked at two of them and they scarred. I got the scars to fade though using retin-a.
Should i just go visit my dermatologist, or should i first try an aesthetician for a light peel or something.

I would have to guess a dermatologist is the better bet. You will get alot of answers and a prescription med. to help open the area up and move them out. Refills, and the pharmacy to better help you along with something you may be able to add over the counter as well.
That would be my first move if it was my money...an M.D. Pamela
Oh and i love Retin A, and Renova...a cousin that is much kinder to the skin, but greasy. Good luck.

I've never had a problem with blackheads or pimples in that area, but I've had them on my face and upper back. Especially before my period. I now use proactive and it's very rare that I break out at all. http://www.proactive.com .

    Good Luck!

When it was justa few bumps on my chest, my reg doc told me to first make sure it wasn't washing powder, soap, lotion, or perfume irritation. U can check for these things b/c u will usually redden if u put jus a little on a dry spot on ur skin for a few minutes.
It wasn't any of those, so then she said to use neutrogena body clear bodywash, wiping once or twice a day, especially when u work up a sweat hiking to class through the snow, with peroxide to reduce bacteria on the skin. And to use a firm, not rough, sea sponge to exfoliate took care of it really quickly. These were just small bumps though, not true blackheads or pimples, just small red bumps.

Also if you use alot of lotions on the chest area, since it is the second most sensitive area on the body (besides skin around the eyes.) it is prone to break out from alot of build up of a product, or dead skin not sloughing off quickly enough. And perfumes can irritate as well. I would shoot for Hypoallergenic products to wash. And keep the area dry all the time after your shower or bath. And any harsh scrubbing may further aggravate the area. Treat it gently. sweat as well will break you out on the chest. A washcloth and hypoallergenic products may help, as well as keeping the area lotion free and dry until you clear up. Pamela Hope this helps you Colettecall

Yes, Pam is right - just go for the dermatologist- it sounds like the skin is getting extra aggrivated, and just getting a peel with probably make things worse. You might need a prescription body wash that you can only get from a dermatologist.

I must add, though, ladies - I have oily skin and am prone to clogged pores after a night of the smokey, sweaty, nasty air in the club; and I swear by Mario Badescu's overnight Glycolic Gel. If I forget to put it on after a worknight, my skin is disastrous the next day.

bumping this after doing a search- I have bumps starting on my shoulders and going down toward my breasts...I only use vaseling on my chest area after the shower..is this a bad thing?

I thought Vaseline was okay to use everywhere?

Vaseline claims to be non-comedogenic (meaning it doesn't clog pores and cause acne).

    Try different products labelled "non-comedogenic":

I'd get this from doing lapdances. Do the basic exfoliation in the shower, perhaps proactive if they're especially greasy, but definitely TONER. I'd clean and clean and would be amazed how much crap was left if I didn't do toner.

    If you're a popper, don't forget neosporin.

Hehe, I just squeeze them out and then apply toner. A very bad idea, yes, but it provides a temporary solution if you need one. Also sometimes the blackhead won't go away until you remove it first... after it's gone, then you should revamp your routine.
