    Default Wigs?

    Hi there! I have been thinking of wearing wigs to change my look. Has any one done it? I have one that is sexy and I am thinking of getting another in black. My problem is that I am afraid that customers might notice it and think I'm a freak or something. Are wigs common? I just started last week and I have been lurking here, this site has been very helpful. Thanks so much!

    Alot of dancers use wigs and they can really help create a great look for you. Just be sure it looks good on and suits your face and body, and that it fits well. Also, make sure you have it secured to the wig cap properly so it doesn't fall off while you're dancing!

    Because of my job, I frequent a LOT of clubs. I can spot a wig a mile away...and I always wonder why the girl is wearing one.

    I am one of those girls that looks HIDEOUS in wigs....but i have used clip on ponytails..things like that. I would suggest you try it for a while, just be prepared to answer any questions that customers may ask.

    I think men are more attracted to women's natural features. Wigs do look very fake. Men look for girlfriend material, a fantasy not a hooker.

    ...then again, at some clubs, wigs are the NORM. It all depends on the girl and the club.

    Dianna,

    There are wigs that are about $30 bucks and then wigs go can go up to as much as $250. It all depends on the look your going for and the quality you want. For example, some girls like to wear purple hair colored wigs, some girls I know wear high quality wigs and you could never tell. Look around on the internet and you will see the different types I am speaking of. I like to wear hair addons, clip ons..and they match my hair color, the girls don't even know its fake unless I bring it up. It also depends on how much you do to your own hair as far as using curling irons, hair products, etc..a wig can give your real hair a few days off. Good luck!

    At one club where I worked, several of us (five, I think) got absolutely matching black wigs -- very stringie, obviously fake -- and posed nude together for a promo shot for the club. I think they're still using that pic somewhere. It wasn't meant to be alluring as much as it was meant to be playful. We were all laughing and giggling in the picture. I wish I had a copy of it.

    Hi;
    wigs are no stranger to my closets as well I have over 30 of them, blond, black, reds,....prices from $30.00 -$1200.00 human hair wigs of course...they do add a bit of zest to the Fantasy of the men in the clubs, not everyone is into Blondes!! ( no insults intended) .
    they do give your own hair a day off in a rush and it helps get you through those personnel slumps, when you think u want to change ur own hair color, "try a wig first"

    my wife started using wigs about a month ago, it really helps keep her own hair healthy...she doesn't use a wig everyday...and it is a lot easier to have a different look when she wants one... a lot easier then dying her hair....

    How about hair extensions. Britney Spears, Shakira, and many other famous entertainers have them and people don't even notice. Think about it.

    Hi;
    In regards to extensions, that is what I most use now. It also comes as a full head piece known as an Intergration, fits comfortably on your head stays there faithfully from 4-6 weeks between redo sessions, your own hair can easily breath through it, (much lighter than wigs).....Looks real...for it is real human hair, I love mine

    Dianna,

    Try looking into "Great Lengths" Hair Extensions. It's the most popular extenstions out on the market right now. It's what everyone in Hollywood uses. Only select salons use them. I think if you go under
    www.greatlengths.com
    you can find out where in your area you could get them. It's real human hair and it's amazing. It's a little pricey but personally I think it's worth it.
    They can run you from $1000 to $2500 depending on which region in the country you live in. You don't have to have them redone for 5 months. Personally I feel like it's a wonderful investment. Good luck!

    The site you typed in took me to a clothing site. It was a site about skirts and shorts and stuff. I will try to find a website that has the hair extensions you were talking about.

    Wigs! Oh i love them! I have tried extensions, they are fine, however they have to pull tight (i had them weaved in to my own hair,) and you will get a headache afterwards. I lived on Advil for 3 days. Some people i am sure this will not affect. Also had a couple glued in, one fell out. Wigs these days are made of real hair, (if you want to look real.) if you want to spend a little more money. I have hair past my ass, and it tucks up in side great, you can't tell. I do wigs on stage to look different for a show, i have a beautiful chestnut coloured one that is down to my shoulders and layers that lay flat. I would not give that wig up for any amount. It will flex and stretch to fit anyones head and hair length. I am a lover of looking different know and agin for stages shows. And a lover of wigs.
    PS This particular wig cost around $350, real hair cost more. But i belive paid itself off many times over. Pamela

    In NYC I get my wigs pretty cheap. Start at $10-100. Great quality real hair wigs is not that much. I think 350 and up is outrageous. And have brought alot of good quality wig and weaves, hair extentions.

    TiNi, prices have gone down since i bought the wig, i had it along time. But i was willing anyway! You would love it! Now i look at some darker synthetic wigs, and they look just as good under the lights. And under $100! Pamela

    i love wigs. think of lil' kim (she's my hero). to me fake hair is like fake nails or color contacts. they are there to enhance our beauty or give a quick change that's only temporary. extensions seem to me too expensize and too much of a headache. but i would try it if i were rich (i used to want microbraids). my hair is multi-textured and i damaged it a lot with relaxers and dyes. i would feel much better with wigs until my hair gets better.

    I bought a super-cheap 50 dollar wig at Lovers Lane just for the hell of it one day when I was shopping for stripper gear. I'm a platinum blond with past shoulder length hair (see avatar) and the wig was a black one slightly shorter than shoulder length. For some reason, and as cheap of a wig as it was, it looked good on me, and people usually couldn't tell it was fake.

    I went to work with it on one night. I walked in and the girls were like "is she from the other club?"... "It's me -- Desiree!!!" The DJ looked at me and yelled "You dyed your hair?!" When I was on stage, I overheard one of the bouncers ask another bouncer "Who's the new girl?" People didn't recognize me! It felt so exhilarating to sort of be someone else for a night.

    And that's my wig experience... the end

    Hi,
    Has anyone heard of "Halo Hair"? Its real human hair on a fishing line in a circle that you put on top of your head and then pull your own hair over top of it. I had one once and it was soo good, but I can't find them anymore.

    Maybe Ebay.
