hi... im 19 and i have decided i want to try out exotic dancing in the philadelphia area... im curious... i have heard i can expect at least around 2 grand a week... is this true? can anyone help me out on any other suggestions?
I just started out dancing in the Charlotte area about 2 weeks ago and I have not yet to bring home two grand. The girls who know how to climb the pole and do other tricks are the money winners. Don't set your expectations at two grand in the beginning. I probably have brought home about $250.00 just on one night.![]()

Pennsylvania has a 'brand new' problem for dancer's incomes, in the form of a new state "pastie" law. You'll do a lot better money wise if you take a 20 minute drive east across the NJ state line!
or you can go to http://twirlygirl.net/ and get pasties in just right the size!

I agree Messi, i had a chance to do lapdances at one club and quit. I don't like them. So i knew along time ago, i had to do something different to up my earnings. There is somethig about guys getting off seeing a woman all over an object. I hate the damn pole, may one day put me in the hospital, but i use it hard. I have learned so many positions on that damn thing, it's strange. I have one in my house and use it almost everyday. Banged my head many times. Flat out fall, and still do at work. Dj laughs, he's crazy
But yes the damn thing can bring in alot of money if a guy requests you do a certain move for him. Or get crazy with it!
Dam Pamela, I gotta get a pole in my house!I wonder how one goes about doing that??

You are yet another young girl who has had the big money in dancing carrot dangled in her face.
This busines is on a steady decline as our society is going backwards on issues involving sexual promiscuity, and abortion and pushing for good ole family values.
This business reached it's peak in my opinion in 1996 and new anti-dance laws are rapidly city by city running the business into bankruptcy.
Forget $2000 a week. Number 1, most young dancers DO NOT work 5-6 nights a week and that is what you will need to have a chance of a GOOD week.
You will have many nights of under $100. $200 has become a good night nowadays.
Here is an example of a typical week AFTER payouts to work:
Monday- $165
Tuesday-$ 86
Wed -$250
Thurs -$190
Sat -$130
Total for the week $821
Week 2
Tues-$350
Wed -$100
Thurs-$275
Fri - $45
Sun - $140
Total for week $910
Week 3
Mon- (-$25)
Wed-$75
Thurs-$110
Fri -$160
Sat $105
Total for week $425 (slow week)
This business has LOTS of DOWNs with the Ups.
I post honestly. A lot depends on you and how well you're kept up as well as how goo a salesperson you are.
The figures I quoted are in a nice club. Consistently earning $2000 a week won't happen. That would be a good week.
I am a dancer in Iowa (2 yrs experience) at a topless only club. I average 400 per night. I work 3 nights a week and have never once brought home less than $900. Just so you know. I end out tipping out quite a bit since I make good money.

While I certainly don't doubt what Tina says about typical weeks, I have to say the income for dancers is and always has been random, sporadic and varied from dancer to dancer, club to club, town to town, state to state, country to country. It changes hour to hour, day to day, week to week, month to month, and year to year. It is very dependent on the dancer's work ethic and ability as well as looks, personality, attitude, locale and club. What I'm seeing as average in my current club is as follows (and I also post honestly):
Week 1
Tue - 200
Wed - 270
Thu - 140
Fri - 400
Sat - 75
Total - 1085 (slow week - not often)
Week 2
Tue - 300
Wed - 150
Thu - 275
Fri - 500
Sat - 600
Total - 1825 (good week - not often, but more frequent than the bad ones)
Week 3
Tue - 175
Wed - 330
Thu - 400
Fri - 250
Sat - 500
Total - 1655 (avg week - most look similar to this)
Week 4
Tue - 100
Wed - 60
Thur - 300
Fri - 180
Sat - 240
Total - 880 (bad week - rare)
Week 5
Tue - 120
Wed - 1110
Thu - 420
Fri - 300
Sat - 550
Total - 2500 (great week - not often)
These numbers are taken from actual kept records, not the air. Alot of girls at my club make this type of money, but several also never see more than 300 a night, and feel lucky to get that. This is not going to be typical for every girl or every club. Some will consistently earn more, some less. Most of us have to travel / move in order to find the places where we make the most money.
All of us have good and bad days, but working more frequently (if possible) always increases the bottom line. If you take a day off after having a bad day, you lose money. If you take a day off after a really good day, you lose money. If you sit in the dressing room complaining (or whatever) for ages instead of working the floor, you lose money. If you choose to party or veg on the couch instead of going to work, you lose money. I am certainly not implying that Tina or anyone else here does these things, just stating a fact. You don't earn fabulous money in this business by being lazy or having a bad attitude. Tina is right that most new girls don't work often and/or don't make as much as the more experienced girls. I do quite a bit better now than I did a few years ago. But the business is on a decline now and unless something changes (like we get back to a more liberal Democratic majority in govt, among other things), it will become increasingly difficult to make decent money.
The point is, a new dancer should not expect to get rich easily in this industry. She can expect to make pretty good money just about where ever she is, and she can possibly expect to make pretty damn good money once she's learned the biz, but it takes a lot of work and discipline to consistently bring in the good money for any period of time.

thank you bridget... i just got my outfit yesterday and have been practicing my butt off... for any willing soul. i pretty much decided i will dance about 5 nights a week... no less than 3. im not sure if they will give me the hours i want as a newbie... but i hope they will. me and my mom are evicted from our place by the 31st.... and i have to find a job by then for at least a hotel since i cannot stay with her at her boyfriends.
i have always had a great work ethic due to the fact all my money goes toward my ulitmate goal... to b able to pay rent for a shop and own my owl gallary to showcase my paintings. dancing seemed like a fun way to eventually accomplish this. thank you everyone u have all been very helpful.

A lot also depends on how the club is run, if they push dances, the types of dances that are allowed, is the volume steady or more sporadic, do some nights attract more of a younger crowd who does not typically buy many dances, how many dancers showed up for work that night, how much money the crowd of customers was able and willing to spend on dances, you get the point.
The money will vary. It is rare that i work a 5-6 day week (i typically work that many days a week) and have no days under $200. And I work the floor and approach every customer. It's not there to make every night.
Just realize that and understand that your money will vary.

bridgette, my girlfreinds weeks look very similar you yours, her average in about 1800 every week. actually, ill give you a couple examples, she keeps records.
lets do march 2003
these are the days of the month that she worked
1 sat 650
2 sun 270
4 tues 400
6 thurs 360
7 fri 530
8 sat 575
11 tues 500
13 thurs 350
14 fri 540
15 sat 500
18 tues 300
20 thurs 290
22 sat 610
23 sun 540
25 tues 460
27 thurs 215
29 sat 1010
30 sun 400
well ,there it is 8500 for the month

It might be worthwhile posting the actual hours you work with the amount you earn.
I remember a series of posts where some people were working 4 hours nights, some were working 8-12. The difference in hours would certainly change the amount of money you make.
I believe the average money you make a month depends on if your topless or not. If you're topless you should make no less than $300 per day. If you work go-go that's a different story. I work the state of NJ and topless is not allowed i average about 4,000- 5,000 dollars a month. I work no more than four days. There is no lap dances or table dances at the bar i work at either. Just remember if you are topless or doing lap dances raise your quota.
?? $300 a day??
My club is topless, a mid-sized town in NC (definatly not big city) and I've yet to see $300 a night. Am I doing something wrong? I don't think the other girls make that either, not even Bridgette and Tina, not every night.
My first week
Monday 4pm-12pm $38.00 (first night ever! I only worked on stage and I was scared to death, I left at 12 cause my feet were BLEEDING)
Thursday 4pm-1am $275.00
Saturday 4pm-7pm (family emergency) $84.00
total after tip out= $397.00
My club requires you to work 3 days/week or they fine you $50.00, also the tip out is based on the time you came in, if you come to work before 7 you may go home at mid-night (unless you have something really important) otherwise you have to stay till two. The valet has your keys(for insurance reasons) so you can't skip out.
Our club "lease" fees
first two girls before 4pm- $3
all others before 4- $8
before 5- $13
before 6- $18
before 7- $23
before 8- $33
before 9- $43
before 10- $53
tip out DJ 10%, valet $4

LOL, yeah, I made more last week (my first week) working 20 hours, when my last job was salary $400/wk and I was working 65 hours plus!!
At first everyone I knew was like "WHAT!?! you quit a manager position at Chuck E Cheese to dance three nights a week? Your crazy, your going to hate it"
I like it, and I'm less stressed, work less, make more money, never get yelled at, never get into fights, make my own schedule, work with MUCH nicer people and have to compromise my beliefs and morals LESS!! Do you have any idea how hard it is to not grab some of those kids and spank them till thier ass falls off
LOL, now my roommate and her best friend are trying to convince thier boyfriends to let them do it.....and my boyfriend and I just bought a new car!!!!!

I've only made below $100 at Players due to being exhausted. All other times I was able to at least make $150... that's my real bad nights. My good nights are closer to the $300 mark (when I first started I was making over $300).
I'm still waiting for my first outcall since that means I get $270 for 3 hours work. I'm also still waiting to break the $400 mark at Players... this is in part due to the percentage as well as my own hustling skills (which can sometimes not be so great).
If I was allowed to hustle for stage tips whilst ON stage.. I would definately be banking some $$. So I have to do that off stage which isn't so productive.

Well --- like she said it all depends on how well you work. To tell you the truth -- I make $3000 a week and I work 5 to 6 days a week.
Just kidding about that --- you guys!!!I only wish I made that much!
Uh, okay...why bother posting that? To show people can make stuff up? I think there will always be someone that makes more than we do and someone who makes less. If you are happy with what you're making, then great. I am happy with what I make.Just kidding about that --- you guys!!!I only wish I made that much!
Okay, I have been dancing for seven months now. I 0only work three days a week-- that is DAYS, not nights-- Friday-Sunday.
Here is what I gleaned from my records. All figures are after my expenses, which include transportation and tip-out:
Worst Week Ever (rarely anywhere near this bad):
Friday: $130
Saturday: $225
Sunday: $200
Typical Week (Most weeks are in this range):
Friday: $350
Saturday: $290
Sunday: $300
Best Week Ever (Just before Christmas):
Friday: $480
Saturday: $430
Sunday: $380
I should add that I am one of the top earners on the dayshift-- This is mainly because I have a lot of regulars, and I work hard. Reading a good book about sales technique. It is very, VERY helpful.
