Default How much would you tip the dj if.....

you already payed an additional $25 to not go on stage? Last night was the first night that I paid to not go on stage and it was definitely worth it! I still had to pay the house fee (only $20 anyway) and I was expected to pay the dj fee as well, even though I wasn't utilizing his services. (I realize that when I give private dances, I am still using the djs music but I would think that the extra $25 would cover that). The minimum is only $5 but they generally expect more than that. I ended up doing pretty well and gave $15, but I am thinking maybe that was a bit much? What do you guys think?

If the $25 went to the DJ the $5 would have been adequate I think. Unless, you had a helluva good nite b/c you didn't have to interrupt the money making to go on stage.

I am pretty sure that the $25 went to the club...I gave the money to the dj and I think he gave it to the manager. And I know that what I pay is a pretty small amount compared to what a lot of the ladies here pay on a nightly basis so I guess shouldn't complain too much. I just thought that $15 was kinda a lot in addition to $25.

Well, if you did really good, it musta been fine. You're still using his music on your lap dances right? You coulda given him 7 or 10 instead... but he probably would have understood the "normal" five...

Everywhere I've worked the fee for not going on stage is a $20 tip directly to the DJ.

Yeah, the DJ gets the money wherever I've worked, too. Where I am now it's $10 to skip once, $20 for the whole night. I guess it's possible the club would take the fee (shitty for the DJ, I think) in which case I would think you'd want to give him his normal tip.

Usually you are tipping the club actually to not use the stage. He will play any music regardles of you not being on stage.

I would tip him/her out for use of the music played. you did do ld's to the music. But i would only tip $10 maybe $5 if he did not throw a fit.

But certain clubs don't get the money, and it will go straight to the dj. Why not ask next time how it works at your club.

Some dancers only tip out the dj $25 at the end of the night no matter what anyway.

If you had to pay $25 for not going onstage, and you didn't use the DJ's services for anything else, $10 would have been a perfectly good tip. Tip them extra, they always expect it. Tip them normal amounts, and it's perfectly acceptable for keeping yourself of their shitlist. Even though you are lapdancing to the DJ's music, the girls who are going onstage are generally the ones who should be tipping him the most, because he has to run their stage music and lights. He doesn't have to do any of that for you if you don't go on stage. In the clubs where the DJ is tipped directly for 'forgetting' to put you on the list, of course you give him $20, but obviously that is not the case for you. In your case a $10 tip should be good.

If you are in a VIP room or the VIP lounge area you should be exempt from the stage
show rotation roster. Of course clubs do it differently, but there is the fee per hour for the girl and the fee per hour (or half hour) for the room to the club. From the dancers point of
view the VIP fee for her is better than any lap or table dances or stage tips.
From the house standpoint, the per hour rental is what you want your club to do...
rent out VIP rooms. Calling the dancer to one of the stages is coaunter productive.

From the customers point of view, you don't wnat the dancer to dance on stage if you
have her in the Vip room. On occasion that happened, but only because there is
no "real time: rooster adjustment as things change throughout the night.

If you are a dancer and you don't have a VIP gig, you should do stage shows
and your motivation is that is your advertisement of you to do table or lap dances
and meet guys at tables. Also a good reason to break from losers who are wasting your time.

    I don't know maybe I don't get it.

I mean at the club I go to the girls try to angle to get MORE time on stage not LESS time.
Getting up on the main stage is maybe once an hour. On a Friday after 8 p.m. you are lucky
if you can get up on stage once every two hours with 40-50 dancers and three song sets.
Also the contests, bachelor parties, and occasional stage events tend to burn up time after 10 p.m.

On the main stage you can get anywhere from $10- $12 to $60 for a stage show.
About $25 to $30 is average which is OK money. Smaller stages not as good of a view from the tables and seats so less money.

The point is it lets you talk to the guys when they come up to tip. Afterward you can thank each one and it lets you sit down with them at their table for likely prospects. It is a more graceful enterance into a group of guys sitting down.

On a busy night the dancers shift into "wanna dance?' mode with guys who have tipped
and just go from table to table with their "pre qualified" sales leads
from the stage dance. Not every table, just with guys who have tipped and who you can remember. they start to ignore the tables that don't tip... and those guys start to get the
message after 11 p.m. and start to tip.

The stage show thank yous usually develops into $80- $100 in table dances, leads on lap dances and most important leads on VIP time.

My ATF would very rarely pay $25 during a dj shift to not dance on stage. The $25 is only good for the dj shift and shen the shift changes, you're back on the stage roster with
a new dj. The reasons for not dancing was usually to avoid guys or groups of guys.

I would even tip certain djs $20 - $30 to play certain songs and get her on stage more times.
I like to see her dance because she's good. She earned more money that way and
she appreciated my attempts to manipulate the roster for more stage time because it
was bad form for a dancer to try that with the djs.

Usually the stage show leads to much more money and a better night on income. I've seen it.

Please post why you wouldn't want to be a main stage?

Niceguy, you are referring to your experience with ONE club. Most clubs are very different from this. In fact, at most decent money clubs, stage is generally a waste of time - most of the $$$ customers barely even glance at the stage and a round onstage just cuts into lapdance time for a good moneymaker.

Bridgette is absolutely right in her statements, going on stage at my club is a waste of time. Granted, sometimes it is helpful to "advertise the product" by going on stage but it is very inconvenient when I am doing multiple dances for one guy and I have to stop in the middle to go pick out my music, go upstairs and get ready for stage, go on stage, then go back upstairs and get dressed. And I have NEVER made $60 on stage to make up for the dances that I could be doing. Also, at my club, guys are allowed to go up on stage with a dollar in their mouth and the dancer climbs over them and takes the money out with her chest, which is pretty time consuming. (and worth a lot more than a dollar in my opinion!!) A couple nights I was on stage for six songs at one time b/c customers kept coming up to tip me...I still made less than $30 on stage when maybe I could have made about $120 by staying off stage and doing private dances.
