    Default DJ's - Dancer's Set...All Same Musical Group?

DJ's (but Dancers are more than welcome to chime in),

Provided a dancer has more than a one-song set on stage, do you shy away from having all of her songs be from the same group for one of her sets?

For instance, if she has to do 3 songs on stage and she comes up and says she wants 3 Metallica songs, do you say:,
    • "Absolutely not, mix it up a little bit, you're not the only one listening to it", or

    • Do you try and talk her out of it, trying to reach a compromise, or

    • Do you acquiese and let he have her way?

Or, is there a house rule that prevents glomming onto one band for your entire set.

I've never heard someone dance to the same group more than once in a set. I dont think it's against the rules, just frowned upon.

Yeah it can happen often but that's because at my club we have a lot of stage shows rather than dancers on a podium. You might get Michael Jackson, ABBA, JLO, Madonna and artists like that.

I have a rule, no music from the same artist more than once an hour. I tell them I'll play it for them next time and I've never had a problem.

The first club I worked at was a small local. The girls had complete say over the songs they wanted. Hell, the one girl even sang karaoke while doing her set (cordless mic). It goes over pretty well depending on the group used and the crowd. The only thing I would shy away from is to use a group that is too extreme if there's an older crowd in there.
