    Default Music for bi-sexuals/lesbians

I think I have met like maybe three guys who don't like to see two or more women having a little friendly fun, and I wondered about whether they were maybe lying to be cool (or too cool, or maybe just gay).

Or maybe they were into feet or some other wierd s**t...

Even those of you who have no interest in women have no doubt noticed the riveting effect a little girl-girl show will have on the guys at your club, and the increased flow of tipping that invariably ensues. As a DJ, you better believe I make sure anyone who is too blind, drunk, or distracted by something else to see, knows all about it.

For those of you who want to pursue this, here is some music to encourage you...

"Les Portes du Souvenir" Princesses Nubiennes, from the Les Nubians CD. This is an Enigma kind of song, superbly sexy and sensuous.

"Eating the Bear", by Joan Armitrading (SP?) This has to mean what I have always suspected. Earthy, gutsy, and sexy as hell. Hasa great, driving beat.

"Switch", or for that matter, anything by Fem to Fem; the name of the band says it all. A little more housey sounding than I like, but it has hi-energy and a lot of dancers do very well to this kind of music. Besides, I'm not the one dancing, so who gives a f**k what I think. I have to thank my favorite bartender/waitress Alexandria for this one. Who though she is straight, and retired from dancing years ago, could be guaranteed to jump on stage and render speechless all the customers in the house when I put this on for her.

"Walking in the Rain", by Grace Jones. From the outstanding Nightclubbin' CD, in collaboration with Sly & Robbie of Bob Marley fame. A hypnotic tour de force, this is to me her very best song. Most dancers find this a little too different, but it is undeniably sexy. Like Joan Armitrading (sp?), she is not really very pretty, but like Joan, could give a damn what I think of her, and more power to her.
She was also an actress, starring in a Conan movie (during the filming of which she put a stuntman in the hospital with serious injuries, so don't tell her what I said, LOL) and a James Bond flick. Though she is a bi-sexual, she wound up marrying the only guy that can possibly kick her ass, Dolph Lundgren, and they did a Playboy pictorial together.

"All the Things SheSaid", by Tatu. I got this from Stripperweb! Thanks to Divyne, and MissBehavin' (welcome back!) for filling us in on the story.

Lena has one, too, but I'll let that charming woman do the honors...

Several choice cuts from "October Rust" by Type O Negative.
Anything from "Lust" by Lords Of Acid.
"I Kissed A girl" by Jill Sobule ( but I would classify this song as rather cheesy)
Lez-rock such as Melissa Etheridge, KD Lang, etc...

I am the queen of dancing to Lesbian rock :-) Mellissa Etheridge (especially Yes I Am, which for some reason DJ's don't play for me much?), KD Lang...

And some that are harder to dance to... Garrison Star (the only ones that have any dance potential for me are Big Sky, Star Power, and Knucklehead) and Ferron (Breakpoint a very slow, quiet, sex by the fireplace kind of song... and Love Loves Me... they both need cut before they get too slow and depressing). Not music for every night, but very effective when used sparingly on the right audience.

Sandra Bernhardt put out a CD a million years ago that included remakes of two songs that are pretty cool - 50 Ways to leave your Lover, and she changes all the male names into female names.

And weirdly enough, a remake of the Stones', Sympathy for the Devil which is slow and kinda cool in a commercial way.

I recently compiled a disc of sensual music, all of which is either lesbian-themed or at least ambiguous about gender. All are by female artists. Here's the playlist:

Mea Culpa, by Enigma (I found a mix in which the Gregorian Monk chanting is minimal)

Lesbian Paradise, by La Fura Dels Baus

    Justify My Love, by Madonna

    Ingenue, by Mono

    Obsession, by Fem 2 Fem

Breathe On Me/Erotic, a mix featuring Madonna and Britney Spears

You're so Sexy, by French Affair

Afterglow (I don't know who performs it, it's just a dreamy, slow track that I felt worked at the end)

Snake River Conspiracy does a great song about a girl in love with a couple. "You & Your Friend". Would be great for a girl working on a couple OR two girls working on one guy . . .

"In my dreams, I can see us in a tight embrace
Doin all the things that we never really did
I think I'm in love with you
Must we go run through our lives with our eyes closed
To the loving happiness that we can share
I think I'm in love with you and your friend
Honest I do, I can't see you and me and her without each other
And I hope you feel the same way too (you and me and her) . . . "
"Before I conceived you, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. Before you were here an hour, I would die for you. This is the miracle of life." -- Maureen Hawkins

"I just can't get over how much babies cry. I really had no idea what I was getting into. To tell you the truth, I thought it would be more like getting a cat." -- Anne Lamott
