Default What kind of songs for a 40ish crowd?

I hope the ladies can help me. I KJ for friends parties and I have a party this weekend that is for a friend that is turning 50. I was asked to pick a couple of songs for the exotic dancer they are getting for him, that the 40ish crowd can relate to, (I listen to Stain, Tool, Zombie, etc...) so the stuff I would choose probably would not be their choice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. They told me the dancer would adjust to any song played, but I want to make sure the songs will be comfortable to dance to.
Thanks in advance for the help.

PS- They will be real songs and not karaoke

As a disclaimer, I've only been doing this for a couple of months, but I do parties for the 30-50 age group. I have tried a few different songs, and here are the responses I have gotten:

AC/DC: "You Shook Me All Night Long" from the Back in Black album has had the most favorable responses. Most of the guys loved that I was dancing to it, and I had it requested specifically one night.

Queen: "Another One Bites the Dust" is not particularly sexual, but can be, because it has a great beat for the dancing. I guess because it is a well-known favorite, this one is also well-received.

Rolling Stones: "Start Me Up" Not sure what people think of it; they like the dance but don't comment on the song.

Eurythmics: "Sweet Dreams" Younger people in the crowd always love it, and sometimes the guy if he tends to be under 40.

"Be My Baby" from the Dirty Dancing sound track went over very well for me also, but that was because it was with a themed set.

I have also had requests for techno, "Brick House" and "Heartbreak Hotel." My coworkers have also used "Respect" and disco (such as "We Are Family") with great success. "Born to Be Wild" worked pretty well for me also. I think that was a 40.

The dancer usually brings songs, and if she doesn't, she should be able to give you requests. You could also ask the wife (or however booked the stripper) what they would like her to dance to. I don't really think it's something that you need to worry about... if the dancer comes without music or even ideas, she would be a VERY unprepared dancer indeed!!!! It's a party(and usually a surprise), so upbeat songs are usually best.

classic rock is great- black cat madonna-dont tell me to stop, etc. john couger mellencamp. If they are 40-50 in age songs of 70s & 80s work best. The music we are into nowadays can work too. As long as we are having fun and into the song they will enjoy. geri halloway it's raining men is disco like but cool.

Definitely classic rock. IMO I would use maybe some ACDC, George Thoroughgood, Aerosmith?, Metallica. Mix in something that the dancers really like so they can fully enjoy themselves also.

DON'T play "Hey Mister" by Custom. Although, I have heard it played in a strip club once. A young crowd however...

"Hey Mister how'd it get so bad
    You raised her so well
and now she's calling me dad
in the back seat naked of a new Volkswagen
the perfect little gift for high school graduation.

    It's not what ya did,
    It's not what ya didn't
God gave her a perfect body
and now I'm all up in it".

Hi, my name is Sleepy and I'm powerless over strippers...
