Go Go Dancer-by Prince
Very grotesque but ironic to dance to..."Pretty Tied Up" by Guns N Roses.
By a tendril these songs deal with dancers & dancing (in my imagination, anyway. hahaha!):
"Six Underground (Paul Oakenfold remix)" – Sneaker Pimps (quintessential)
"Disco Lady" - Johnnie Taylor (even if it doesn't it's an extremely sexy song)
"Prettiest Thing (Hormonal Mix)" – The Creatures (a song that goes through my head repeatedly when I'm with Athena, my favoritest dancer in the world & the one I'm supporting through grad school, practically)
"Just The Way You Like It" – S.O.S. Band (totally pushing it with this one)
"Doctor X" – Die Form
"In Da Club" – 50 Cent (I always took "da club" to be a strip club)
"A Girl Like You" – Edwyn Collins
"Wanted" – White Town (This is my "female customer in a strip club" anthem, although I do think I'm pretty)
Semi- off topic but I'm on a roll. Random sex & sex worker songs (again, not overtly but in my head. I was a female gigolo for years & these songs take me back):
"Rated X" – Pat Benatar
"French Kiss" – Lil' Louis & The World
"Palomino" – Duran Duran
"Angel Street" – Icehouse
"Things Happen" – Coil (Ok, yes, a very scary song but SO sums up how I felt with my customers)
"Jungle Fever" the Chakachas
Someone already mentioned Sylvia – "Pillow Talk"
"Into Temptation" – Crowded House
"Ice" – Sarah McLachlan
"In The Warm Room" – Kate Bush
Now for classics with no words (I am a huge collector of classic stripper songs & these are my favorites):
"The Beast" – Milt Buckner
"Hub Caps & Tail Lights" – Henry Mancini
"Little Egypt" – Elvis Presley
"Playboy's Theme" – Cy Coleman (Also my theme song, play it every night before heading to the Gold Club. Gorgeous)
"Ram-Bunk-Shush" – Bill Doggett (GOD I love Bill)
"Night Train" – Alvino Rey (Frickin' excellent!)
"Blues in the Night" – Alvino Rey (His orchestra rocks on the strip songs)
"To multiply the harbors does not reduce the sea." - Emily Dickinson
"Cheap & Evil Girl" by Bree Sharp
"Junkie" by Poe
"Beautiful" by Angie Aparo
good songs.....![]()
Tela - Table Dance
Wyclef Jean - Perfect Gentleman
then there's always Gangsta Boo - Can I Get Paid....
"I can handle anything that life throws at me. I may not be able to handle it well, or correctly, or with finesse, but I will handle it."
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here, we might as well dance!
Placebo - ''Pure Morning'' (Ace song!)
I've not listened to this band in an age! But if you listen to the lyrics, there are lines there that you can refer to a striptease...
I've already copied this song and plan to use it on stage. This is good old UK quality (they're Scottish actually).
You are the envy
of all parallel lines that
dream of curves and convergence
- Sara Bailey: Sieve of Words

I know someone mentioned 2 Live Crews "Me So Horny", but have you heard "Pop That Pussy" by them?
The only reason I know is because one of my friends (female) used to request this song when we went to the SC![]()

Darling Nikki by Prince
I knew a girl named Nikki
I guess you could say she was a sex friend
I met her in a hotel lobby
masturbating with a magazine
she said how'd u like 2 waste sometime
& I could not resist when I saw little
Nikki gind
she took me 2 her castle
and I just couldn't believe
my eyes
she had so many devicees
everything that money could buy
she said sign your name on the dotted
line
the lights went out
and Nikki started 2 grind
The castle started spinning
or maybe it was my brain
I can't tell you what she did 2 me
but my body will never be the same
Her lovin will kick your behind
she'll show you no mercy
but she'll sho'nuff sho'nuff sho a
low 2 grind
I woke up the next mourning
Nikki wasn't there
I looked all over
all I found was a phone number on the
stairs
it said thank u 4 a funky time
call me whenever u want
2 grind
come back Nikki come back
Your darling little prince
wanna grind,grind,grind.
Sometimes the world's a storm.
One day soon the storm will pass

I wanted to live inside her lungs

<<You know what song I hate. "There's so hoes in the house".>>
Thats "Fire" by Joe Budden. (terrible song but one club I'm at gets a lot of the hip hop crowd and they love that song)

something's bad about to happen 'cause i'm feelin so damn good - nickelback

you should all check out a song by new young british singer, Jentina, called "bad ass strippa" (i think lyrics are based on her experiences as an underage dancer in miami). it kind of bombed in the charts in the UK, but i think it's a good song!
Nikki D.... don't know where you got this information, but it is wrong. Lords of Acid is Praga Khan and Jade 4 U... Belgium New Beat pioneers. They record under millions of names, usually for Antler/Subway records. 101, Major Problem, Erotic Dissidents. The story is in the late 80s/Early 90s Belgium DJs started playing house and industrial at 33 instead of 45 (yes, they created screw music before the Houston ballers slowed hip hop down.) This became the rage at clubs and new records were made to match these slowed down 45s. It was considered cheese for years... only respected by a few in the underground house/electro world (and the erotic deviants who loved the fetish motif,) but now there's a huge rennaissance and everyone seems to be playing it out and rereleaseing the classics.Originally Posted by NikkiD link=board=7;threadid=3793;start=msg44820#msg44820 date=1060594828
Tracy Lords threw her gauntlet into the rave arena with the 'Control' lp, produced by Goa Trance act Juno Reactor (they did the music in the rave scene in MATRIX RELOADED.)
Baroness:
<<"Things Happen" ? Coil (Ok, yes, a very scary song but SO sums up how I felt with my customers)>>
!!!!!!!!!!! One of the greatest songs of all time. This song is soooo fucking great - all should find and listen right away.
Goofy pick:
Hilary - Drop Your Pants (around your ankles, you make me shiver when you deliver)
Dirty Pick:
Karen Finley - Tales of Taboo (the dirtiest lyrics you will EVER hear.)
Political Pick:
Consolidated - No Answer From a Dancer (a male perspective of a female's perspective of dancing. Not perfect, but he tries, and even admits his imperfection.)
Nobody mentioned:
The Model - Kraftwerk
Seedy Films - Soft Cell
Sorry for all the mega posts, but when starting to post to a community I find it easiest just to throw myself in... and stripper/sex industry and its relation to musical choices is of great interest to me (and I don't really attend strip clubs or rent porno that much?!?!?)

Peace Division ft Pleasant Gehman - Blacklight Sleaze Promo Vinyl - 01 - Blacklight Sleaze (2006) House
Lyrics:
Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing here, in the middle of this Times Square room, velvet smoke and damp carpet, soggy with spilled cheap Champagne. With the mirrors, flashing lights, plastic bowls half full of salted peanuts and their discarded shells. In this room with tired waitresses, lousey over priced drinks.
I feel sorry for the men sometimes, mostly I just feel contempt. The men with their furtive movements & blank faces. I feel sorry for Stacy, her face looks like it's been stepped on. Though her body looks like angel food, almost to beautiful to look at. Her boyfriend probably doesn't when he hits her.
I feel sorry for Lynn, with her expensive lingerie, cheap dimestore wigs, trying to hide her identity. She's a Yale graduate with a huge student loan debt... She hooks a little on the side.
I feel sorry for Babette, with her henna'd Cleaopatra hair and large luminous eyes. Her adorable accent and broken english can't hide her drug habit and predatory nature.
Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing here. Dancing naked except for a few sequins. Lying to men for drink commissions. I take their room keys and make promises that i know I won't fulfill. We're all victims in one way or another. We're all here for different reasons.
Sometimes I wonder what I'm doing here...But I like to sleep all day and stay out all night. The idea of a straight job is like the idea of a straight jacket. I like buying clothes. I like eating in expensive restaurants and taking taxis. I'm pretty and intelligent, sarcastic and selfish. And I'm not going to be doing this forever.
And I'm not going to be doing this forever. I'm only 18.

In Love With A Stripper by T Pain
Hey! I don't think anyone's mentioned one of my all time faves (that would most likely NEVER be played in a contemporary strip joint - though I would fall down and worship any DJ who played it): Tom Waits: Pasties and a G-String (from Small Change)! Might work very well for a burlesque number, hmm . . .
Kind of va-va-voom yet seedy, Boom Boom Room-ish.
Some choice excerpts:
And it's a fish-net stockings
spike-heel shoes
Strip tease, prick tease
car keys blues
and the porno floor show
live nude girls
dreamy and creamy
and the brunette curls
Chesty Morgan and a
Watermelon Rose
raise my rent and take off
all your clothes
And my personal fave:
I'm getting harder than Chinese alge-
brassieres and cheers from the compendium here
"Before I conceived you, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. Before you were here an hour, I would die for you. This is the miracle of life." -- Maureen Hawkins
"I just can't get over how much babies cry. I really had no idea what I was getting into. To tell you the truth, I thought it would be more like getting a cat." -- Anne Lamott

I have played "Pasties & A G-String" before. It was one of those last call on a dead night type of things. The girl did know the song, though, otherwise it wouldn't have worked.
