This guy is one of the best techno DJs out there, though I am partial to the stuff he put out a few years ago.
He has a funky beat, but avoids for the most part the hardcore breakbeat sound that will sometimes piss off managers and older customers alike.
Here are a few of his hottest tracks:
"Tell Me" (that you want me)--from the Horizon CD--this is so fine, great vocals, excellent beat, but it manages to be almost mellow, like a lot of the female vocals techno that has been coming out recently. I love the way the woman sings "I am ready..."
"Lift Me Up" from the same CD
"Jam the Box 99-- the remix' from DJ Baby Anne's superlative Bass Queen in the Mix CD--just who did the original I don't know, but this is some extremely hot funk techno.
"Check Me Out"-- from his Ill Behavior CD, which came out in '99. This CD has its moments, but jumps around so much, an unsuspecting DJ can get himself into trouble by just playing any old track from the beginning. For instance, I will play track 3 "Bumpin", but only start it at FIVE minutes into the song, which means it's pretty short, LOL, but sweet.
He has done a great remix of "Use Your Love", but I still prefer the DJ X version, though it is too damned short.
"Do That" (Sharaz's Yizomix)--this is some serious booty techno. My version is from one of the United DJs of America Series of CDs, AfrikaBambaataa--electro funk breakdown, which is pretty good overall.
The Deliverance CD may be his best, but my copy is burned, so I don't know the exact names of the songs, but I will find out--it is well worth getting, and has that Robin fox song "I See Stars", which is great but has maybe been played a bit too much.
