Is there any truth to the clubs being slower around the holidays?

it depends, but it's generally true for me, althoug New Year's day is great because there is a big parade that goes by our club.

This will be my first holiday season to dance but I've been told business does slow down quite a bit. With various parties and family gatherings a lot of guys don't have the time. Add in buying presents and stuff like that they don't have the money either.

In the years I have been going to clubs, it does seem a bit slower in Dec, but I have also noticed one of the busiest nights seems to be the Wed before Thanksgiving. Maybe it is the one last time before being stuck with the family.

Well the Wednesday before Thanksgiving this year sucked! It;s supposed to be the biggest bar night of the year and the majority of girls at my club did horribly. I didn't even make my house back that night. I'm going to work today and hopefully, I'm crossing my fingers, it'll be okay.

    Thanks to all who responded!!

Hubby and I thinking of going to a club tonight...sounds like its a hit and a miss. Don't mind a slow club if the girls are still having a good time (went over fourth of July, the club was slow, but the girls had lost all motivation, no smiles, no interest in anyone in the club, and I was tipping constantly ....not the best time ???)

Dont want another recap of Fourth of July....any ways to tell what kind of night the club is having (besides the parking lot? heheh)

    Thanks! [wave]

Early December to about the 20th is fine. The weekend after thanksgiving IS horrible velvet, You are so on the money.

Depending on what club you go to, men often want to spread the cheer! I do great during the holiday season! It helps to wear great Winter colors to get customers in the mood.

Tonight I am curling up and watching cartoons and eatig cereal. "cos right after turkey day REALLY reeks.

Overall, yes they are but it depends on the club and the city you are in.

Black Beauty FYI, at a club such as VIP's that is geared to the business customer, most of your customers are from out of town and as a general rule those types of clubs are slower on Fridays and Saturdays, holiday weeks, the weeks of Christmas and New Years. Business guys are home with their families and don't get sent out of town during holiday periods. Busy bar days bring out the young crowd, not the guys who are older with several hundred dollars or more to spend on one girl.

When I work in Houston it is the same way. My club there attracts a higher end customer and weekends, and holiday periods the local hardheads make up most of the crowd and they are hard to even sell one dance to.

Average people (and there are more average ones than wealthy ones) are stretched thin trying to buy presents so business I find is down about 25-30% during the holidays.

In some higher end clubs from this weekend to next the Christmas bonus executives will come in, but each area varies on that. Also this is the Christmas party weekend so the older guys might not be out in normal numbers this weekend.
