well since dancers choose to be dancers, how can they be exploited by men?noone forces them to dance-they can go work at an office or grocery store instead, but they choose to dance
guess who's back? back again
No never...I had complete control to do whatever i wanted. If i did not click with a customer i moved on. And no one ever made me feel bad about my job choices. I simply would not let them. When women would get all "big eyed" when i told them i danced, i asked if they were feeling ok, and maybe they should sit for a few moments, because i did not have long, i needed to go take my clothes off soon for many men when they get off work before going home to their wives! Then went about my business. LMAO

you can only feel exploited if you let yourself. All of those who work are "exploited" by someone in some way, when you really think about it.

Exploited by what men? The customers? The managers/owners? Men in general? SOs? Who?
But to answer, no. I don't do things that I don't want, and I don't allow men to exploit me. Maybe some could say that club owners/managers are exploiting me by profiting from customers who come to see dance, but I don't think so. I choose to dance, I know the owners are there to make a profit, and so am I! If I didn't make money, I wouldn't be dancing. It's a win-win situation there. As for the owners potentially making alot more money than me, well they also take a alot bigger financial risk than me to open/buy the club, so their profit potential should be greater.
Concerning customers, I don't hang around with assholes. If a guy gets out of line while I'm dancing for him, I handle it, not let him handle me. And when it comes to the verbal assaults some of them try to level on me, I just don't let them. I either walk away or put him in his place, whichever is appropriate. I also exercise my right to choose with whom I spend time, and I simply cannot be bothered to waste any time on someone I don't like or who is a jerk.
As for men in general, well I'd have to let someone exploit me if he were going to really exploit me, and since I am aware of my choices and conscious of what I'm doing, I don't feel anyone is exploiting me.

When I first read the question, I was a bit puzzled why one would ask that, given that dancing is voluntary. Then I remembered that the belief that strip clubs exploit women is the crux of a lot of anti-adult club/entertainment arguments, not all put forth by feminist groups either. A lot of them think that they will be saving women from the horrors of being exploited by closing clubs etc.
All your responses illustrate a fact that seems common sense, but it reality is hard for fundamentalists to swallow - You are all adults who make your own decisions. You have chosen to do take up this profession on your own volition - which completely negates any possibility of exploitation.
If anything you dancers "exploit" us men and our overactive libidos. There wouldn’t be any need for you guys to dance if guys didn't want to see you and fork over their money. (Warning.. this last paragraph was made tongue in cheek)
Personally, I don’t mind being exploited that way at all. Keep it up
PJ

Well, I am rather handy with an overhead projectorMaybe give a seminar!!!!!!! You would be terrific!
I feel like I'm exploiting the men I dance for. ;-)

I thank you all for your replies and Prester John, if you didn't like being exploited you don't have to return to those who are exploiting you. Except if you want to give a seminar.
