First off I want to say hello to everyone as this is my first post.
I'm one of the guys from Texas & I would not have a problem paying up front, but I've never been asked for money until I said I was done. I would not pay more than 2 or 3 dances upfront however, as I was ripped off by a dancer at the Trophy Club in Houston a few years back. I gave her 160 upfront, at which time she gave me one dance, maybe two & excused herself and said she would be right back. After a long period of time, I got up and went out on the floor as I had paid to go to the back in the Champagne room. Out front I find the girl sitting down with 2 other guys and doing dances with them! I was so pissed, but I just walked out with my tail between my legs. Now this was a one time only occurence for me, & I have met many many great ladies since, but this girl really put a bad taste in my mouth for a while.

I'd rather pay up front. Get it out of the way.

It's really up to her though.

I can see Strong Bad's point, too. There are some girls who will get the money up front for lots of dances and then run off. I can see why the guy wouldn't want to hand over a $100 to a girl he doesn't know, and I can see how the dancer doesn't want to do $100 worth of work before getting paid. The rip-offs go both ways. As dancers we at least have bouncers/managers to help us collect, but if the guy has a complaint it's her word against his-- And bouncers are more likely to side with the dancer.

Unfortunately rip-offs happen everywhere. If you've ever been a waitress I'm sure you've had to pay for plenty of meals where the customer skipped. They also happen to customers in strip clubs. I've paid in advance for a lap dance more than once, only to have the girl then tell me that she won't begin her dance until I give her a tip. Guess who left immediately and never went back? I will pay in advance because some clubs require it, but I never tip in advance.

I think there is a fine line as to how you deal with the guy. In Houston some of the guys will run out real fast. You have to go with your vibe or you may insult a good customer.

If you are going to do multiple dances because the guys is responding to you, after 3 ask him to pay you for those now so that you both don't lose count. If you say it in a nice way there most likely won't be any hard feelings plus you can see how much money is in his pocket.

I work in some clubs like Crazy Bob's where the club gets $5 per dance and guys buy dance tickets in advance from the DJ and we get our money at the end of the night. Those clubs have more 1 dance guys than the tab running places or where we collect our own money as paying as you go slows down the momentum and keeps lots of the guys from getting totally relaxed while dancing for them.

In Houston, it's all about the regulars. So they KNOW what the deal is and there is no telling then about "club policy" of up front payment because they know better. I go by my instinct and usually stop every once in a while and ask for payment to catch us up before I continue. I have been ripped off...but am learning with each experience how to avoid it from happening again.

Most guys are pretty good but they will totally try to bargain with you. I do things a little differently than a lot of dancers. I end up charging in 30 minute or hour-long chunks as a flat hourly rate ($300 downstairs,m $400 in VIP) as opposed to counting songs. Or I tell them my nightly minimum ($500) and if they give it to me I will spend the rest of my shift with them. I get taken up on this a lot (and then they almost never stay until the end of my shift so I go back out and work the rest of the night.) I end up making more money that way because the perception is that I am able to relax, have a good time entertaining, without counting every last song...plus the perception is that the customer is getting more for his money without having to worry about the countless songs he is racking up.

My club has a cashier, you collect your money [half] at the end of the night. It's pretty good, though a mild buzzkill to have to walk across the room to the cashier if they want additional dances.
Oh, and most guys tip at the end of the dance, a few don't at all, though I had one do so up front and ask me what was a normal tip.

Once ... once.... and only once...I let a guy slide for two songs. Because he had an honest face. Of course he only had $16 and said he needed to go to the ATM. Of course the ATM was *broken* so he said he needed go across the street to the other ATM. Of course his bank was messed up and no ATM worked.

Of course he kept me posted on all this as it developed *yawn* I pretty much wrote it off.

I'll be damned if he didn't come in the next night and pay me the remaining $24!

My club collects FIRST!!! and even though I hate trying to hunt the bartender down when the guy wants additional dances at least I know I already got my money. That way if he is a jerk in the lapdance booth I am still in controll and I don't have to worry about getting my money.

ps. the idea here is that if a guy knows he can get all the ld's he wants for $500 with a girl he knows he likes, he is likely to go for it if he has the cash. However, he also likely has a friend (or five) who all get drunk and want to leave, dragging him along, since they are his ride. Or, he gets tired (because they don't have the stamina for marathon strip club sessions like we do) and has to go, or he has to work in the morning, etc.

Bam! Got the night's minimum plus the rest of the night.
