    Default ANY ADVICE???

    Hi Ya'll!
I am going to begin dancing in a few weeks. anyone have any words of wisdom for me?? I plan on starting to dance nude within the next few weeks... I would rather dance topless but my since I am under 21 that is not likely, where is the money better??
Is there a big difference between what a topless dancer makes and what a completely nude dancer makes?
Does anyone have any suggestions on a great nude club in San Diego? Also, I decided that I want a male name for my stage name ...what do you think about that? I figured it would be different and stand out more... Not something too butch, I thought the name James was cute...check out my profile and tell me what ya'll think.
    thank you!
    love
    James

The only advice I have is to check out the following website....

    http://www.stripper-faq.org/

Great, great, site. It's like my Bible. I follow it to the letter with excellent results. Good luck!

Just curious why would you want to have a guys name ?
No offense intended, but I would have a hard time buying a dance from someone named James. I know I may be old fashion, but to me a name like James would just make me picture my brother in a G-string, and that is not a good thing. Good Luck

Well, best of luck to you, and I hope you enjoy yourself.

I would highly recommend that you check out the clubs in your area and pick the right one to start with, it can make a huge difference in your success. Don't let the exterior, or interior either for that matter, entirely affect your decision. Some of these seemingly upscale clubs are run by and filled with employees who are assholes and bitches. You are very fortunate that you are in a city like San Diego where you will undoubtably find not only a wide variety of clubs to choose from but also are more likely to find the high quality you deserve to start things right and keep from getting burned out too fast.

Make no mistake about it, this industry is not all fun and games, and can be downright brutal at times. So many of the managers are only out for getting blowjobs and pumping up their generally weak male egos. Intelligence is not nearly so common as the ability to be a hard ass. The DJs are frequently cocky jerks who are also there to pump up their egos and get laid by as many of the girls as they can. Many--not all by any means--of the dancers (ladies PLEASE don't take offense, if you are reading this post you are undoubtably NOT to be included in this generalization) are shallow and jaded creatures whose perhaps exquisite exteriors are but hollow shells, and can be very nasty to any new girl who may threaten (they feel) their turf, especially if you are beautiful. The customers are with distressing frequency lame idiots who actually believe they are going to get in your pants because of their (choose one or all) money, drugs, car, or
attitude-and they like to assume that you are there not to express yourself and entice them for profit but only because you are ready to leap into bed with them after they deliver some bullshit line.

Having said all that, let me assure you that you can have the time of your life getting down on the dance floor, letting your erotic nature free, and make a killing in the process. It sure beats working in a McDonalds, or getting stuck in a cubicle in some infernal 9 to 5 hellhole.

Don't be intimidated by those women who have every hair in place, dance without ever missing a beat, or display amazing ability on the pole. Believe me, a very large proportion of your customers will love nothing more than to see a girl-next-door getting naughty. I managed to turn a small club that was in a bad location into a major success because we had almost entirely brand new women and I gave them the music and encouragement they needed to really let loose. And some of the finest dancers I have ever seen never touched the pole (it does get their attention, though, and if you want to learn remember it's all LEVERAGE, not strength-don't be afraid-and practice when its slow, it beats sitting around not making money.

Having the right music can make or break you. Hopefully the club will let you bring your own, and the DJ will play it for you. Try to talk to the DJ in any club you are casing, if he is an arrogant jerk go elsewhere. As you may have guessed by now this is what I do, and I love to help out the newbies, but even some of the good DJs I know are not patient or sensitive enough to realize what a difference it can make for you (and themselves--they make most of their money from your tips). Also if you love techno or R & B you will probably want to steer away from the strict rock clubs, unless you are very flexible and you can make a pile of money there.

Last but not least, you are right to try a name that is distinctive but I would definitely not use a man's name unless it could be a female's as well. Like for instance instead of James how about Jamie? I have worked with literally well over a thousand dancers and have yet to see one named Jamie, except that one of my favorite girls of all time happens to have that as her real name, and by God she wears it well. But that's another story, and this post is long enough...

Well, technically, even though James is a masculine name, there are some women with the name (not many, I admit, but some). Does anyone hear know of James King (model/actress)? She's absolutely gorgeous and I, personally, like the name for her - it's very unique and makes her stand out a bit. I don't know if I would want to use a guy's name myself, but I think it does have it's advantages if you're going for it based on the uniqueness factor.

Also, (and I'm only using her as an example since she is the only female I can think of off the top of my head with a male's name) even though Guy said he would tend not to buy a dance from a girl with a name like James since he'd be picturing his brother in a G-string (lol , that must not be a pretty picture), I doubt many guys would turn down a dance from James King based solely on her name. So, all in all, I don't think it would necessarily have an adverse effect.

And, finally, I think a lot would depend on the girl, herself. Depending on both a girl's looks and personality, certain things may work for her that would not necessarily work for others - I think the same goes for names. I hope that makes sense. Good luck, James! Let us know how everything works out for you!

    Luv Amber

The only problem I forsee with using a man's name as your stage name is ALL the questioning you will get from it.
Sure, it is unique but think of how many times you are going to want to explain this to customers night after night after night.
Keep that in mind and good luck!

Hi there, I took a look at your pics and you have a very pretty face and smile, remember smile smile and then smile some more at work even when you dont feel like it Is your hair still the short pink??? If so I, would definitely get rid of the pink, you will turn off a much bigger crowd than you will attract with it. Most of the time longer hair is best for dancing, but some girls still do well with short hair. If you hair is still that short i would consider getting some extensions or something for when you work. Good luck!

My hair is growing out and its not pink anymore either! I got rid of that!
I usually wear long braids in my hair, but I am not going to be able to afford to get the braids before I start dancing, so I figure I will have to deal with dancing with the short hair for a few days, and then go and get the braids back in. I get alot of compliments either way so hopefully I won't have to much of a problem, the braids usually just give me a more exotic look.....
Thanks for tellin' me what you think!

    1. Never, ever loan your things out to ANYONE, no matter how nice they may be. You may not get it back in good condition, or at all, and it lets everyone else feel comfotable with just hitting you up all the time or - worse yet - going through your things freely.

    2. Take a lunch. Something light like a salad or Subway sandwich. Dancing burns calories - LOTS of them.

    3. Never leave money in you purse in the dressing room. I broke this rule last night, because I had cashed some money orders on the way to work. One of the wenches I work with swiped a $50 bill out of my purse - that money was Christmas money from my folks. And it's not an isolated incident - this happens more often than you may ever think. Ask a manager to lock up your purse if you have anything of value within it.

    4. Make nice to your DJ, bouncer, etc. Don't EVER screw them on tip-outs. Otherwise, you may find youself getting screwed on your sets, on your protection, on your general ability to make money.

    5. Expect bruises. Expect lots of bruises. Be prepared.

    6. Wear SOMETHING that covers your rear end when you are not on stage, for heaven's sake!!! Butt acne is a horrible thing to behold, and most seats in bars are beautiful breeding grounds for bacteria that causes butt acne. Nobody sterilizes those things!

That's all just general advice, though. I can think of ten million more things that a new girl should know, but I just woke up and don't feel like running my blab all day. Everyone else here will pitch in, I'm sure.

    Best of luck to you!

    McCain
