When you guys spray tan, you don't spray your face do you? What do you do to get your face to look tan like your body?
You are talking about the Mystic Tan, I'm assuming... I worked at a tanning salon for 2 years & they have the Mystic. It's awesome, I love it. I'll go tanning in a bed first & do the mystic after so I'm extra dark.
Anyway, to answer your question, you actually do get your face sprayed. You put a shower cap thingy on your head & over your ears & your face gets tanned. Don't worry, it's totally even & natural looking. I don't trust any sort of self tanner on my face except the Mystic spray. However, I do use a tinted moisturizer from the body shop that I get in 1-2 shades darker than my natural skin tone.
I'm going on a 5-day cruise at the end of this month and was thinking about getting a Mystic tan. While I realize this doesn't really count as a base tan, it'll keep me from looking pasty.
What I was wondering is how many times I have to do it before I get the look I want and how long I should wait before applications. Also, how long does it last? Does it fade evenly?
I've decided to quit the tanning booths cause I'm getting to that age where I should start worrying about wrinkles. I'm using a Neutrogina spray on tan from the drugstore. It really does give me a deep-dark tan, as dark as the booths used to. I learned the hard way--be sure to put some vaseline on your knees, elbows, hands, and feet to avoid looking dirty there. It looks great and natural...until about 3 days later when it starts to come off in uneven patches. Do you mystic tanners have that same problem? Other than that I'm loving this stuff.
Oh yeah, and when doing my face, I spray it on my hands then rub it in. It's better than accidentally shooting myself in the eye.![]()
The 6 second spray tan at Darque tan works great for me, have not yet noticed patchiness or uneveness!! Now they are also trying to sell me some lotion that will extend the spray tan for 3 more days theoretically. I am so SICK of paying $50 for damn tanning bed lotion when its $3 for sunscreen @ the pharmacy....

But I've only heard positive things about booth spray tanning, except that it's expensive.
I am going to ry Mystic tanning this week. I will be sure to let you all know how it goes.

hey have that too, Miss George...it's supposed to last a week
It's done in a booth, it gets sprayed out in a very fine mist.
A less expensive alternative is called Sun Spray. Ask around at different salons but the one I go to is called Palm Beach Tan (it's a franchise) and it only costs $15.
I looooove it and it looks totally natural. I wipe it off of my face and ears and blend on the jawline after b/c I don't like the way my face looks tan.

I'm pretty sure they just opened a palm beach tan around here. So is it $15 a session or can you get some monthly or yearly membership?

Mariah, to answer your question, one of our members posted in one of the above threads how she got a year of Mystic Tanning for $600, I think.
I have a monthly membership but I think it costs $15 per Sun Spray session even if you don't have a membership. I'm going to cancel my monthly membership for use of all their beds and just stick to the weekly Sun Sprays. I still need to find out if there is a discount for multiple Sun Spray usages. But still, that is way less than what most people pay for Mystic Tan and IMO it looks better.Originally Posted by Mariah link=board=5;threadid=5195;start=msg56229#msg56229 date=1071614521

Have any of you tried air-brush tanning?
For those of you in the Las Vegas area, these people are terrific:

I hate signatures, but I love irony.
wow, $45 for a full-body application, and it lasts a week!
I have a jet tan set and I think it works better than mystic tan. Cheaper in the long run too. It does not seem like it comes off in patchs as much as the mystic tan. The only downfalls are that it takes longer to apply and it is good to have someone else spray your back. Also it is a must to watch the video before applying.
I love fantasy tan!!!! It's super expensive at anywhere from $50-70, but is AMAZING!!!! It is SOOO natural looking and you're dark right away! The girl does it on my face and I don't get anybreakouts from it. I also have her do extra lines on my tummy to give it a more toned look.

I know this is an old thread but this question relates. Does spray tan rub off on the face if you year glasses?
