    Default Online Downloading Services-Which One?

Which download service do you guys and gals recommend? I'm checking several sites and I'm not clear as to which is the best choice.

I thought I had downloaded "Kazaa Lite" but I think I got bilked because all of a sudden that program changed to iShareIt, but when I installed it I couldn't open because it kept sending 1030 messages saying that an important part of the program was uninstalled (God knows who did that). Then I went to Kazaa's homepage but the friggin' setup didn't open.

I use Limewire. I like it better than Kazaa.

I did pay for Kazaa Lite but the program this site has for download just doesn't open. I'll have to wait for my credit card bill and seek credit if that problem persists. I downloaded the Kazaa 2.6 installer and it not open in my PC. I reinstalled WinMX and will probably check Limeware.

Downloaded WinMx and Limeware. Both are free and Limeware has a pro version you can pay for, but my copy of free Limeware worked just fine. Downloaded one song before bedtime it was a breeze! It's apparently more realible than WinMx so I'll stick to it.

I can't believe anybody is still using free kazaa. You do know they've got spyware, right?

no spyware and pretty good DL's. (some real popular songs are BS fake files put out by the record company assholes.)

winmx ok but i always have huge waits in queue's for DL's

Now I'm worried 'cause it seems to me that www.ishareit.com (which I thought was kazaa lite) may be a scam. I opened the k-lite.tk site and it has the same transaction and download procedure. Well, like I wrote, I'll have to wait till the next credit card bill to make that claim...

    P. S. LimeWare rocks!

    another bit of advice...

unless you really feel the need to share (or really want to be sued) create a dummy folder somewhere on your hard drive. name it "new folder" or something dumb. cut not copy but cut all your mp3's and paste them into that new folder.

then in kazaa make sure you are sharing ONLY the "my shared folder"

once you DL a song and want to keep it move it to that "new folder" you created. wala no longer shared. noone can tell you have that mp3 on your system.

seraya... if you are going to put kazaa-lite on your system make sure to un-install everything from the original kazaa. also delete and folders associated with it.

then do a fresh install of klite.

my g/f just tried to uninstall Kazaa she said it wouldn't let her. It was actually a huge pain in the ass. Her dad had to walk her through it step by step over the phone.

WinMx was suggested by Juliette De_Sade (I'm pretty sure it was her) some of us were complaining of not being able to find certain songs she claimed we could find anything our pretty little hearts could think of on WinMx I must say I've gotten everything I can think of on WinMx including stuff that's been out of print for ages.

If you are worried about the music police get this program and install it....
It's called peer guardian. It will block known ip addresses of of groups looking to nab us music collectors. the address is http://xs.tech.nu/

I've been using it for like 2 months now and have caught many of the cd police poking near my stuff.

I've been using imesh for about five years, its been just as good as the orginal napster and morpheus, yes it free and its very easy to download with a wide range of music to download. Why don't you give it a shoot, the web site is . Hope that I was of some help.

There's only a few really good download services, some without spyware and some with.

I suggest that you check out www.zeropaid.com as this will help you determine which P2P you want to use.

If is has spyware then use Ad-Aware 6 to get ride of it and run the program often.

I use many programmes but my favourites are in order:
Blubster, Kazaa Lite, Grokster, WinMx, Limewire and Morpheus. Audio Gnome is good for those hard to find songs but can take awhile to download.

    Good Luck :o

Uh huh, and if everybody does that there will be no more places to download from! How ridiculous! Know what? I always do a 'whois' on everybody in my download queue, and if you don't have stuff shared other than your current files in progress, and more than 100 complete files, your download gets cancelled and you get shoved on my ignore list. Non-sharers don't get anything free from me! If you're gonna download, you can share too - or get off the damn system. Works both ways bud.

    **********

Back to the topic: I've been using WinMX for ages and I love it. Good program, and I can find EVERYthing I want on it - even stuff that's been out of print as Sapphire mentioned, and the newest stuff that hasn't even hit the streets yet.

Yes, Limewire is free. It's twice as fast as Kazaa too, and without any annoying ads.
