Depeche Mode are great! I play lots of their tracks, especially from the Violator cd, their latest cd is very good as well.

You might also check out the tribute cd called "for the Masses", which has other bands doing covers of DM songs. I especially like Dishwalla's version of "Policy of Truth", Rabbit in the Moon's "Waiting for the Night", and the superb "Stripped", by Rammstein (though it sounds very different from DM).

Yes, it is from the Violator cd, though not one of the better songs from that excellent offering. But listen to this--I had written a reply about this cd much earlier tonight, only to lose it, much to my dismay.

However, sometimes things happen for a reason, for I had put the cd in to verify one of the songs was the one I thought, gave up in disgust and left it there when I lost the post--and when that "maiden most perfect" returned from work, we listened to it together.

I have heard this cd many times--it's always been one of my favorites--and played it for some very sexy women onstage, but it was as new to me; especially "World in My Eyes", and "Enjoy the Silence". What a beautiful night, with those Angel Eyes in mine...

I cannot abide maudlin, sappy love songs, but these are two very powerful, erotic, and eminently danceable love songs. "Policy of Truth" and "Personal Jesus" are also very good and very danceable, though the latter has been overplayed.

So thanks, MiABluE, lol, for asking the new question, and I beg your indulgence in this little tale.

"Dream On" is in fact on their new CD, which some consider to be even better than Violator, though it's not as popular as Violator was, as if popularity ever guaranteed quality.

I like dancing to the People Are People techno remix. There is a good Enjoy the Silence techno mix too & I play them as a set. I also like Only When I Lose Myself... a very slow, sultry song.
