    Default Too young for implants??

I searched for this and didn't find anything, so if this is a repeat of an old thread, I'm sorry!

Here's my question... I've been told that 19 or 20 is too young to get implants because the breasts haven't finished growing yet, and often women grow up to another full cup size naturally between 19 and 23 or so, and that this just makes implants look ridiculous. This is what I've been TOLD, not my opinion or observation (I only know one girl personally who has implants, so I have nothing really on which to base any opinions).

I'm 20 years old and not even filling out an A cup, and I'd desperately like to be somewhere in the neighborhood of a B, so I was wondering if any of you knew whether or not this is true... Am I too young to get implants? Should I give my body a few more years, just in case?? (Even though no women in my family have been very large-breasted until having children and/or gaining a lot of weight...) And, if I DID start growing here in the next few years, would it mess up anything with implants?

Sorry to be so ignorant, but as I said, I've only seen one set of implants in my life, and that was on a girl who was allegedly flat as a board before getting hers right after graduating high school. I'd really like to get implants, but the thought of what my friend told me a year ago about being too young haunts me and scares me away from it all... So I figured I'd ask those of you in the know and with some first-hand knowledge of it all. Thanks!

I dont know about age..but for an implant to look good and not like a rock on your chest, you need to have skin that isnt super tight..like if you have had a baby before or lost weight, etc...but really the only way to know for sure is to talk to a plastic surgeon...he/she can look at you and tell you what results you could expect..everyone's body is different...talk to a plastic surgeon (board certified) there is no pressure to get anything done its just to get evaluated

While your breasts still may be growing and changing, I don't really see that as being a problem - after all, our breasts can grow and change all through our lifetime - pregnancy, nursing, hormonal fluctuations, weight loss/gain.
I would also expect that the age you went through puberty would have some bearing - if you developed breasts at 13, and they haven't really changed since 15, chances are good they're pretty much where they are going to be. If you were a late bloomer, there is a slight chance for substantial change.
Personally I think you should do what you want - after careful consideration of the risks/benefits.

I don't think it's too young sweetie. that would be some extreme late blooming if they started growing now.

I got mine when I was 19... two years before I started dancing or even thought about it. I was an A and now I am a full C.

If your boobs grow after you get the implants, they'll just be even bigger & more natural looking & feeling. Most surgeons do not let anyone under 18 get implants though. If you have any Qs, just PM me.

Agreed, as long as you are 18 and healthy, there is no medical reason against getting implants. One thing that I would point out for practical reasons though is that very small implants (such as those required to go from an A cup to a B cup) also have a very small diamenter. This tends to lead to a "two doorknobs" look where the very small implants leave a very large gap between the breasts. To close this gap larger diameter implants are required, but these larger implants would also probably result in C cups.

That's interesting i always wondered why some implant's have the "two doorknobs" look..... I didn't know it had anything to do with the diameter of the implant i just thought it came down to bad boob jobs.

This one girl I used to know got implants when she was still in high school. She wanted to have boobs to fill out her prom dress so her dad paid for her implants. She couldn't have been more than 17 or 18 when she had hers done so I definitely don't think you are too young. Oh yeah, and then her dad was shocked when she decided to become a strippper, lol.

I'd say at least wait until you are over 21 and that your growth stage has concluded. BA are nothing to rush into. What happens if something goes wrong with the operation. You don't want to suffer the consequences longer than you have to. Besides that I think you should take longer to think about it and research the pros and cons. It's not an operation that is critical to your health. In fact it may be detrimental and irreversable.

I don't think you are too young for implants. Breasts can change and grow or shrink all throughout your lifetime. If you do get implants and go up a breast size naturally, it will just make your implant look more natural. Just make sure you do tons of research.

I wanted implants and no doctor will do them...I'm 19 and I was told by 2 different docs that I don't NEED plastic surgery because I am young and perky. It sucks but they are probably right. Girls do grow after 20. but then I am already a C so maybe with an A cup you can have something done.Just don't go huge in case they do grow. Talk to a surgeon, actually talk to a few different ones. They know more than anyone else and most do free consultations. They'll give you all your options. good luck.

Geez girl! 19 years old with perky C cup titties! I can't believe the thought of a BA has even crossed your mind! Of course to each their own!

It's extremely unlikely that your breasts will continue to grow and you are not too young for implants. If you want natural results, it's best to not go more than a full B. Although I have seen girls go from an A to a D, it rarely looks natural.
If you decide to go ahead and do it, PLEASE do your research and don't just go for the cheapest or most famous doctor. It's fairly common for girls to even go out of state. If you want, you can send me a message, tell me what area you live in or if you're willing to travel and I can give you more info.

You are definately not too young for implants. I also went to high school with a girl who got silicone implants when she was 16 or 17. (She'd had a baby 6 months prior to the surgery also she was a AAA cup I would guess basically an ironing board chest) She went to a B cup.

Personally, I've never met anybody who's breasts miraculously blossomed at age 19 or 20 (unless they gained some body weight) I doubt your boobs will get any bigger unless you pack on a few extra pounds.

I wonder who told you you're too young for implants? A doctor or a friend? Also, I'd be extremely cautious about telling any of your friends about you getting a boob job. Believe me, they get jealous and hold it against you somehow. If you're gonna tell anybody at all tell your mom or S.O.

I don't think you're too young...the growth that you might still have will probably be minimal.

However, I'd like to add that my boobs didn't grow AT ALL until I was 18 or 19...I went from flat flat flat to a small B cup within about a year and a half. And I didn't gain weight elsewhere, so I think I just hit puberty late

    kind of like scarlett,
i had had the same size boobies since about 8th grade until recently. over night i was busting out of my a cup bras (literally). i switched birth control like three weeks before, also i had been very very active in sports through out high school - my mom always thought that kind of messed up puberty and growth stuff, so maybe this had something to do with the fact that my boobies didn't grow till i had been out of high school for two years.

i'm 19 and after i quit sports and graduated i have grown an inch taller, went up a whole shoe size, when i was 18 I gained about 15lbs (freshmen 15) so i could definitly see how someone could still be growing at this age.

do what makes you happy tho, just make informed decisions...hell if i had the money i'd prolly wanna do it right now too, and i'm still in the process of buying bigger bras for my new boobies!
